My 3 Favourite Highlighters!

Hi everyone hope you have all had a great Christmas :) today I am going to share my three favourite highlighters. They are a product which I use all the time and when applied correctly and to the right place take your makeup to the next level.

Highlighters are used to create the impression of a glow to skin and create another dimension to your makeup. It is usually applied to the areas of the face which the light catches, such as, the top of the cheek bones, down the bridge of the nose and the centre of the forehead. they can also create the illusion of a more lifted face such as highlighting under the brow bones makes then look more higher and lifted. Highlighters are a must have in your makeup bag and here are 3 I love:

This is MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle £22.00. There are three different shades however I think this is the one that will suit anyone. I use this almost everyday and its beautiful. It is a perfect combination of silvery, rose and gold tones and is not glittery at all. I apply this last (using fingers or brush) to my cheekbones under the brows, the bridge of the nose and forehead, it also looks really nice in the corner of the eyes to make them pop. It may be a bit more expensive than some however for the amount of product you get you only need the smallest amount so it will last you a very long time. It blends really nice into the skin and it creates a really nice shimmer that catches in the light. This is overall the one I use the most and I love it because its goes perfectly all rounder and goes with any thing.
Next is The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer £15.00 this is cheaper than the MAC one however you do get slightly less product. This is definitely a more warm gold toned highlighter very smooth and blendable and not glittery at all. I do think anyone can use this however I would suit the more warmer of skin tones, and makeup looks. I prefer to apply this with a brush as it can be a little too much for me as it is quite pigmented, I always make sure I tap away any excess before applying or buff it onto the back of my hand first. This is a very beautiful highlighter and is again one of the more popular ones.
This last one is the BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector in Pearl £33.00 This is a liquid highlighter and may seem expensive however you get 50ml which I think is great and it will last you so long! Again there are different shades but this is the one I think would suit any skin tone. This highlighter has a pump applicator and comes out a beautiful pearl cream there is no glitter particles at all its just pure shine. It blends beautifully into the skin and is perfect if you have dry skin and don't like to use powders I personally don't use any powder if im using this. There are many ways to use this product as it is a liquid. You can use this under your foundation to create a lovely glow. you can use this on its own say on holiday and you have a tan, a little of this will make your skin look glowy and healthy. You can use this as a normal highlighter just to the areas you want to pop. I apply this with a paddle foundation brush or a buffing brush, buffing it onto the back of my hand first. You do have to make sure that this is fully blended in correctly or it will not look right at all. There is a scent to this which im not to fond of however this is the most versatile out of them all and probably the most beautiful when applied in the right way. I no this is used on the red carpet and by celebrities to create glowing skin, it really is beautiful.
So there are my three faves! If you are not too confident you cant go wrong with the powders, just make sure you go for one which it not too glittery as the less glitter the more natural it looks. And if you do not use a highlighter you must try one, they make a massive difference. Hope you liked this post everyone and hope you all have a great New Years!! xox

Two Things Im Loving!

Hi everyone and welcome back to my blog, the past week has been so hectic and I have been away in London (which was amazing) which is why I did not do a post last week :(  Today to make up for it im going to do the product I would have wrote about last week with the product of this week.

I am doing my post today as it is Christmas week and I have no idea what I will be up to yet but I wanted to make sure I did leave this out! I still have lots to organise I don't usually sit down until its time for the big dinner haha. Hope you are all enjoying the party season so far :)

so the first thing I want to share is this face mask from Superdrug and it is also by Superdrug. Im so annoyed I cant find the price I paid but im sure it was only a few pounds and you get 75ml. I chose this as I didn't want anything fancy I just wanted something extra to keep me hydrated. I have never used a face mask before and I like this as it is so easy to use. I apply by massaging it all over the face except for the lip and eye are. Then leave it on for 10-15 mins then pat any extra moisture off. It is a clear cream consistency so you can not see you have it on and there is no scent to it either which I like. I use this 2-3 times a week and it really is working. My skin feels so nice and hydrated and it hasn't caused my any breakout problems or anything. This is recommended for normal to dry skin which I would agree with as its purpose is to hydrate the skin. I really like this product and I will definitely carry on using it through the winter for extra miniaturisation. Superdrug also do this mask in different typed to suit different skin types too so give it a look!

The second product is this Sleek palette from Superdrug and this was £9.99 in the colour Lace. First off, I have not been using this brand for very long however I have not yet had anything bad to say about it. I love the packaging, it feels and looks really nice and I love that they make good palettes. I got this one about 2 weeks ago and have used nothing else since!

I no coral colours are usually used in spring/summer however I don't think these are super warm tones plus I don't think it matters what you use as long as it suits you :) The colour on the right is what I have been using the most, its a lovely pink/coral shade and its matte. I think its perfect in between of the two tones and it really brightens up the face. This middle shade is the only shimmer shade and I have been applying this over the top of the other one for more glow. this also looks really nice on its own! I have not used the far left one yet I think it may be a bit orange for me however this would look really nice on darker skin tones, the middle you be a lovely highlighter too. This is by far my favourite product from sleek so far, I like that they consider all skin tones these colours would suit any, plus the pigmentation its great too!

So they are my 2 favourite products for last week and this week! I am going to try and do as many posts as I can over Christmas and new year, I hope you all have a great time guys! XxX

The Perfect Bronzer!

Hi everyone, so its party season and its time to get the fake tan out! im sure we are all looking a paler than usual but in the festive season its still nice to have warm glow :) I recently did a post on the gradual tanner im using and its looking good however, I don't like to use self tanners on my face as they usually don't agree with me plus that's what makeup is for :)

Im going to show you a bronzer that I have been using all the time :)
This is the CHANEL Soliel Tan De Chanel and it was £31.00. I would not usually spend this on a bronzer however I heard good things about it.
First of all look at the packaging, its so beautiful :) this bronzer is a cream-gel bronzer, and is suitable so all skin types and tones. I love the texture most of all, its silky smooth and just melts into the skin. I apply this using the real techniques buffing brush, its pretty sheer at first which I like as you can build it up to suit you. There are so many ways to use this bronzer, you can wear it on its own for just a sheer glow, over your foundation for a for tanned look and also to contour your face. If you have a paler skin tone this is not to dark or orange it looks really nice on the skin, also if you are dry, you can keep the glow of the foundation by using instead of a powder bronzer so it looks even more natural.
overall im pleased with my purchase, you get a good amount of product and you don't need much so I no it will last me. A lovely product and great for this time of year :) Thank you for reading guys XxX

My Mid Week Must Have!

Hey eveyone, just a short one today for my mid week must have. Ive been using this for a couple of weeks now and its really helping in this cold weather.

This is the REN skincare active 7 eye gel. I have this in sample size, however you can purchase this for £20.00 for 15ml.

Im always excited to try new skincare as mine is so dry and sensitive! I liked the look of this as it says its hydrating, cooling and helps prevent puffyness, dark circles. At the moment my eyes are sore and dry being out in this weather all day and this has been helping prevent it. I do normally prefer creams but this gel is really soothing. I apply it under the eyes and also on the eyelid too, it is more moisturising than i would have expected for a gel too. It is fragrance free which i like and it suitable for all skin types.

Overall a good eye gel, this is really hydrating and will not disturb any makeup you apply over the top either. Thanku for reading :) XxX

Winter Fashion Haul!

Winter Fashion Haul!
Hey everyone, first of all sorry there was no mid week must have this week, I just didnt really like or use anything last week and I was mega busy :(. Today Im going to do something a bit different and share some of the winter clothes I have brought over the past month, the weather has definitely changed now and I needed some new pieces as I have thrown out quite a lot from last year. All are from Matalan which I have been obsessed with recently apart from one which is from ASOS.
First lets start with my favourite thing Ive brought this year, these boots are from ASOS and where £42.00. I have been searching for a pair of these boots for ages, I am soo fussy when it comes to shoes and I don't buy them very often really. I prefer to buy shoes that I can wear with most things so I can make sure I get good use out of them. These Chelsea style boots are really in this year and im so glad I found them. I chose these firstly as I wanted ones which go nice with jeans and casual wear for shopping and going out in the day time, these are nice for that due to the detail on the heel. The heel is separate from the wedge of the shoe giving the appearance that the heel is smaller, so you don't look like you are wearing massive heels just to go shopping. they are also really comfy to walk around in all day. The second reason I chose them is because I wanted something I can also wear for nights out too. I will no longer have to moan my feet hurt and will actually be able for walk as they are not too high :) overall these are all round perfect for me, they are not too high, they look great with anything day or night and they are super comfy :)

Now onto all my Matalan goodies :) I got these little midi rings and they were £5.00. I thought these were really cute and I liked they colours of the stones. I love wearing loads of rings at the moment and these look nice stacked together or on different fingers and with other rings too. Matalan have some really nice jewellery and the prices are great too. (I don't know where this ring holder is from it was a gift, but its so pretty :) )

Next I got these gloves for £10.00 these are real leather, with a fleece lining inside, I chose these are they are pretty thick for leather gloves, the lining inside is what makes them pretty thick and this means they are extra warm! I wanted leather gloves as they have good grip which is good for driving too. I think these are going be more hard wearing than normal fleece gloves and im sure they will with me at all time over the winter :)

Next is this printed Kimono, I purchased this for £16.00 however on the website it is now £12.00 I have so many of these in my wardrobe im obsessed, mainly because they just go with anything! I chose this as the colours are more wintery and the pattern is so pretty, you can wear these in the day time or dress them up for nigh too! Love love love!
Last but not least is this jumper I have been living in for the past couple of weeks, it was £25.00 which I thought was a great price for a good jumper! I really like the pattern and I also like that it is a good length, its slightly longer at the back which stops you getting cold! Another plus is the length of the sleeves I always find a lot of jumpers on me the sleeves are too short whereas this fits me perfectly :) Matalan have some lovely winter jumpers in this year and they are really good quality too.
So there are a few winter goodies ive brought recently all I no ill get my wear out of. Thank you for reading and ill be back soon :) XxX

My Five Faves Of November.

My Five Faves Of November!
Hi everyone and thank you for reading my blog. We are finally in December and im getting excited for Christmas now :). I have such a busy month but its going to be so much fun! As its the start of a new month im going to share my five favourite products of last month, there are probably more than 5 products I have been enjoying the past month but I did not want to ramble on so I narrowed it down to 5. they are all new products too me too which purchased not long ago.
so here they are, some of you will probably already have these or have used these before, they are new to me so and im excited o share my reviews on them.

Lets kick off with the first one the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz Pencil.
As the eyebrows are becoming more and more popular, there has been so much hype about this brand and its products. It is hard to find it in the UK I only found it on one website ... The first time I tried it I realised why everyone loves it so much! The pencil is a twist style and it is very fine too, the texture is really nice, its very strong and will not crumble like others I have tried however it glides on so smoothly. I also like that it had a comb on the end so you can keep brushing through to get a perfect brow. With this pencil you can achieve the airbrushed affect that is very popular or you can just fill them in a little so they look very natural. To round up, I love this pencil its deffinately one of the best on the market, I wish it was in stores in this country though!!
Carrying on with the theme next is the Anasatia Beverly Hills Tinted Brow Gel.
I also heard that this product was also very popular so I purchased this off the same website. If you are unsure on your shade there is also a clear one too. I have never tried a brow gel before so I don't have any to compare it too. I do really like this product, the pigment is not too much so it does not look like paint on your eyebrows, it also does not clump either. I like that you can use tis with or without any other product, if you are in a rush you can just apply this for a quick fix! it looks really natural on the brows and they really do not move :)
Next is my new foundation MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation
I wanted a new foundation for winter as most of mine have a dewy finish and I wanted one which has more of a matte finish. This has a SPF of 15 so I don't think it would cause too much flash back if any in photos I have not had this problem anyway. It says it has a natural matte finish which I would agree with, I have dry skin so do not have to set this with powder. I am happy with it, I think the coverage could be a bit more for me I thought it would have more cover than it has, but it is definitely buildable. I like to apply this with my beauty blender to get the best finish on the skin.
Next is the MAC Pro-Longwear Concealer

I have wanted to try this for ages its just so annoying that there is no MAC store close to me! I purchased this and my foundation from the Debenhams website. I like pump applicator as it is more sanitary however you do get more than you need. The coverage is really good and it does not sit in fine lines either. I find it does stay for a long time and, I only set it with a little powder too. At the moment I am using this when I highlight and contour and I am very pleased with it.
Last is the Maybelline Mega Plush Volume Express Mascara.
I am always buying new mascaras I like to change to different ones to try them. I like this because of the brush, the bristles are very fine and it really fans out the lashes. Just below the brush there is a little nick in the want, this makes it quite bendy, I like this when you apply as there is a give in the wand it does not let you apply too much it applies really finely. I really prefer this compared with my old one as it is not clumpy at all and you can add more layers with it not looking too heavy. I don't think you can go wrong with Maybelline mascaras they have some amazing ones.
So there is my 5 favourites I hope you liked it and maybe give one of them a go, and don't forget to share your views on them with commenting :) XxX

Mid Week Must Have!

My Mid Week Must Have!
Hey everyone hope you are all having a good week, my mid week must have this week is a short one again but its something im using all the time and love!
This is the Garnier  summer boy moisturiser, and its £7.00 for 400ml you can also buy a smaller size. you can buy this almost anywhere but I normally get it at ASDA. It is a moisturising body lotion which has a hint of tanning ingredient in which gradually builds up to a natural looking tan. this is the deep sun kissed one but you can get a lighter one too!
I found this a few weeks ago as I wanted to start using a body moisturiser again as my skin has gone really dry recently. I really like the moisturising qualities of this as it actually works! with many I use I find it feels nice for a couple of hours then tends to dry my skin out more.
I am also a massive fan of gradual tanners like this as a I have very fair skin. I don't usually use instant tanners as they are usually too dark and too orange on me and look really fake. Where as with this you can build the colour up to what you are comfortable with. This version is the deeper sun kissed look but you can get a lighter one. I find this fine for my skin tone, I find I have to use less product to achieve the colour I like too, I have used this for over a year now and I wouldn't use any other.
To use this I find the best time to apply is at night after my bath or shower, this is because I can wear loose clothing so it can soak in evenly. You could apply this any time this is just my preference. It soaks in really quickly and NEVER streaks, and the smell is really nice and fruity too due to the apricot extract. To get to the colour I like will apply it every day for about a week then go to every other day or even three times a week. I think the colour it gives is really nice, its not an 'orange' tan or neither is it a very dark tan that it looks like you have been on holiday, its just very nice and natural. I don't apply to my face however as I can just change my foundation to match the same colour.
*But you do have to wash your hands straight after you have applied it or you may get orange hands.
So overall another brill product you can get lovely soft smooth skin and get a lovely sun kissed look too. I think it makes me look more healthy and its keeping my skin really nice too. I hope you liked my post and ill be back soon. XxX

A lillte hair pick me up!

A little hair pick me up!
Hi everyone hope you are all getting used the freezing weather we are now having in the UK :( . I wanted to do a makeup look today but my skin has been so bad with being outside ive not been able to put any makeup on my eyes a all! its really annoying me now lol!
I hate the winter months as my skin and hair seem to get really affected by the weather so I have to change all my routine around to try and keep on top of it. My skin care changes all the time as I am always trying out different products, I have very dry and irritated skin at the moment and after all these years im still not able to find anything that properly help. if you have any suggestions please share them below.

Well enough of me moaning... today Instead im going to share a hair care product that I have been using for so long now over the winter period as a 'little pick me up' so help keep my hair soft, shiny and in good condition.

This is the VO5 Hot oils and I purchased these from ADSA for £4.00. This is an intense pre-shampoo treatment. It san instant rescue for damaged hair and is perfect for this time of year. In cold weather my hair becomes very dry and brittle and loses its condition, and these really help. I don't know much about hair or ingredients of hair products, I only know what my experiences are and what suits me. These hot oils contain 5 natural oils:
Avocado oil
Apricot oil
Grape seed oil
Jojoba oil
Rosemary leaf oil
you get 4 of the hot oils in a pack and for best results you should use one a week, however you don't have to.
They come in little 15ml individual pods. It may not look like a large amount however I have very long thick hair and this is enough for me. so to use them you:
1. Place one unopened tube into a cup of hot water (or drop into you bath or put under the shower)
2. BEFORE SHAMPOOING wet hair and massage into the lengths and leave up to 1minute NO LONGER
3. Rinse thoroughly and shampoo as normal
I really can tell the deference using these I use these mainly to help with the damage in cold weather however, they counteract the damage caused by heat styling products and daily brushing, so if you are using hot irons a lot or your ends are getting a little brittle these will really help give you nourished hair.
Thakyou for reading this post, I will be back with my mid week must have and other products im finding helpful. Hopefully I will be able to do a makeup post soon as I have loads of new products to show you :) XxX

Mid Week Must Have!

My Mid Week Must Have
Hi everyone I wanted to start doing an extra post each week so I have decided to do my 'mid week must have'. During the week im going to share one thing (and it could be anything) that I am using and loving. Its not going to be a huge post just a little update on my week and what im using through the week.
So this week this is what I like:
I got this from Boots and it was £6.20. It is a nail and cuticle oil and the main reason I like it so much is that it is a ball roll on! It is perfect if you are on the go as you don't have to mess about with a nail varnish type brush applicator which can be messy if your not concentrating on what you are doing. I have never seen this application method before in a nail product , and I don't no why as is could not be more handy!! Its a must have in my handbag and I can use it anywhere any time :) I have had this for about a month now and you can hardly tell ive used it, you get 9ml in the bottle and a little goes a long way.
Don't let the word oil put you off either it is not greasy at all and it soaks in straight away making your nails look shiny and in good condition, I am outside all the time and have noticed my nails look in much better condition since I have been using it. I even use this when I have nail varnish on and it does not erode at all.
So that is my must have this week, I thought it was a really cool little gadget :) hope you are all having a good week. XxX

My New MAC Lip For Winter!

My new MAC lip combo for winter!
Hey guys if you follow me on Twitter or Instagram you will know I did a little internet shopping! (Maybe too much). I haven't had time to review and try it all yet however I think I may have found my perfect lip colour for this season! A lot of you may already have it s it is very popular but for those who are not familiar with it im going to tell you all about it :)
Im so excited about this as ive been looking for a lip colour like this for some time and these are the perfect mix. What im talking about is the MAC lip liner pencil in Nightmoth and MAC lipstick in Rebel.

So the lip pencil is the darkest out of these two, it is a very dark plum/wine shade. It glides on super pigmented and it did glide on really nice. This is the only lip pencil from MAC I own and it is far better than anything I have used before! you could wear this on its own, just line the lips to get the shape or colour all you lips in... which is what I did.
The lipstick is the lighter of the two, again it is super pigmented and glides of really nice. Again this looks really nice on its own however not as dark as it does with this pencil under it. I only have a could of MAC lipsticks as we don't have a store near to where I live but I have not been disappointed with any that I have.

I think that this is the perfect colour for winter and would go with anything and any skin tone. For day time you could just wear it like I have today then for night just add a little more to your eyes. this stayed on all day it only wore off a little but you could not tell, I think the lip pencil really helped keep it in place.
This will definitely be my winter lip colour and im so happy I have found it finally! I will be posting more on the new things I brought soon, I hope you liked my post sorry its just a short one today! ill be back soon XxX

Fall Makeup look!

Fall Makeup look.
Hi everyone today I am going to share with you how I did my makeup today. I was going to do another baking post however the cake I decided to make this morning was a major disaster!! it looked terrible ha! So I decided to do my makeup as I had nothing to do so that's is what I am going to show you today :) it was super easy and quick so here you go! (sorry for the poor quality pictures I am hoping Santa brings me a new camera for Christmas :) )
Bourjois happy light base serum matte
Revlon PhotoReady foundation in Nude
Bourjois healthy mix concealer
Rimmel Clear Complexion powder in translucent
Benefit Hoola bronzer
Sleek blush trio in 366
Mac Mineralize Skinfinish in soft and gentle
So to start with I applied the bourjois base to keep my skin matte, I then applied the foundation evenly using a Real Techniques buffing brush.
I didn't finish the rest of the face until I did the eyes but this is what I did...
I applied the concealer to my under eyes ad blended it out. It does help to do the concealer last if you are using lots of eye shadows in case you get any fall out, you can easily clean up before you finish the look. Next I buffed the translucent powder all over thinly just to take away and shine. I then contoured the cheekbones and the forehead with the hoola bronzer. I applied this with the brush that comes with it then blended it out using a big fluffy brush. I finished the skin with the last blusher in the sleek trio and the MAC highlighter and blending these together.
Urban Decay Primer Potion
Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Metallic Pomegranate
NYX Makeup Artist palette in various colours
L'Oreal intenza gel eyeliner in pure black
Maybelline Colossal mascara in black
So to start the eyes I used the primer as a base to bring out more of the pigments. I then applied the colour tattoo as my base colour just on the lid. I then used a Burgundy shade eye shadow in the socket and blended it up almost to the brow. I then took a silver shade and used this to highlight the brow bone and the inner corner of the eye. I then went over this with a blending brush to make sure there was no harsh lines. I then lined all around the eye and did a flick at the outer corner. I finished by slightly buffing out the under eyeliner with a little of the burgundy shade used in the crease. I the applied a couple of coats of the mascara.
NYX lip pencil in purple rain
Sleek Matte lipstick in 792
I first did this look with a nude lip but I thought as it is a fall look to go all out and do the lips to. I first lined the lip to get a straight border and then filled it in with the lipstick.
This look was really easy to do and you do not have to use the same products as I did. I am going to do more winter inspired makeup look over the next few months and also some cool party looks too as it is the party time of year, so if you have any ideas you wanna see let me no. Thanks guys X

Autumn Drugstore Products

Autumn Drugstore Products.
Hi guys hope your ok, its getting really wintery now so I went shopping for some new autumn products and everything I got are products I have never used before which is exciting. I purchased all these from the drugstore Superdrug. So let get stuck in... these are what I got:
I purchased everything from Superdrug so they were pretty inexpensive!
The first thing I purchased was the Bourjois Happy Light Matte Primer £10.99. I have never tried a matte primer before as I have quite dry skin but during the day I do become shiny in the T-zone area. I normally like a dewy effect but as its nearing winter time I prefer a more matte finish. I really liked this product I found that it did actually work for me. I was not too fond of the smell but it did wear off, the feel was not as silky smooth as my normal primers  I think this is because its matte. It is very light on the skin an soaks in well, my foundation blended over it smoothly and it did stay matte too. I have also worn this just over my moisturiser and not work any makeup and my t-zone did not get greasy at all. I think for a drugstore product this is really work a try! this primer also come in a luminous version too.
The second thing  I got was this Sleek True Colour Lipstick Matte 792 £4.99.
I am obsessed with purple lipsticks at the moment and I was really pleased when I came across this one, most of the ones in the drugstore had a shine to them and I wanted a really pigmented and matte one. I have never tried this brand before but I have heard so much about it and I am a new fan!
I really like the consistency and the colour is so vibrant, I also like that there is no particular scent either. I love this colour for winter it really stands out with just eyeliner on.
The next thing I got was this Sleek Blush BY3 Palette in Pink Sprint 366 £9.99. Fist of all I like the feel and look of the packaging. I like that you get 3 good size blushes in one palette and the mirror is a good idea too. I picked this one as the colours are more deep and plum toned, you could mix these together or just use them on their own too. I like these for winter as I usually have more pale skin and I think these will look really nice!

Next to last I got this Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoo in Metallic Pomegranate 70 £4.99. The colour is a kind of burgundy shade and I does have shimmer in too, I love this product as it is so easy to use. If you are not that confident using eye shadows or are now to it, these will be your safety net as you cant go wrong. You can use this as a base and blend in your other eye shadows or just use it on its own with mascara and it looks amazing, plus it WILL NOT move. it does not crease or move it looks the same when it time to take it off as it did when you out it on. I really love this product and I will be getting more of the colours, I found it to be super bendable. I think these are really great!

The final things I purchased were these L'Oreal Collection Privee Colour Riche Lipsticks £8.19. I love nude lipsticks I don't think you can have enough, and when L'Oreal advertised this collection dedicated to nudes I had to try them. I purchased the lightest pink which is Doutzen's Nude and the deeper nude that is Julianne's Nude. I love the packaging I think it looks expensive, however the only thing I an not fond of is the smell !!

The lightest looks quite sheer on the picture but it really nice and glossy on, it just adds a pop of colour, it also looks good on top of a lip pencil as it brings the colour out more. The darker shade is a slightly more reddish pink and it does have a shimmer in too. I wear these two all the time. I think it is hard to find a nice nude that does not wash you out but I really like these. there are shades in this collection or all skin tones so it you are looking for a nice nude check these out :)

So there are just a few supplies I got for winter, hope you liked this post and ill be back soon X

 My Sugar Skull.
Hi everyone hope you have had a nice weekend, its Monday 2mo :( and all the busyness starts so I thought id enjoy some peace while it lasts and write to you! Today I was a little bored and wanted to try a look that I have been wanting to do for ages... the Sugar Skull.
The sugar skull originated from a Mexican celebration of life called Dea de los muertos or 'Day of the dead.' This celebration happens on the 1st and 2nd of November. It is believed that on the 31st of October the gates of heaven are opened and all spirits of passed children are able to reunite with their families for 24 hours. On the 2nd of November the adults are able to come down to enjoy the celebration prepared for them.
The sugar skulls are made for the deceased to decorate their alters together with candles and also their favourite food and beverages, to encourage and guide them back to their families.
When I started to research the meaning behind these beautiful designs I could not stop, I loved the thought of celebrating the lives of passed ones, and using bright and strong colours to bring back to life an object which normally thought to be scary and dark.
This was my version it was my first time doing anything like this and there is no end to what you can create mine it pretty simple. I used all the NYX products I had in my NYX haul post:
- Gel liner in black
- Jumbo eye pencil in milk
- different colour lip pencils
- Eye shadow palette (didn't have eye pencils in the colours I wanted.
1) First I used the jumbo pencil in milk and blended it all over the face
2) I then drew in the eyes nose and mouth with the gel liner
3) I decorated around the black of the eyes with a pink lip pencil and coloured in the spaces with a yellow eye shadow
4) I contoured around the forehead and jaw with a dark blue mixed with a light purple eye shadow
5) I then added the decoration on the forehead and chin, I kept it simple to start with I didn't want to mess it up.
I like this look as there is real symbolism behind it and plus its not scary at all you make these as colourful as you wish :)
Give it a go and share what you create, and take some time to do the research its not just a pretty design but a whole lot more :) xxx

Baking - Chocolate Banana Bread!
Hi everyone and welcome back! I thought I would share something different with you today :) in my spear time I love baking, ive got an enormous sweet tooth and love making cakes and anything with chocolate in it, I think im actually addicted! ive had a full day off today which doesn't happen very often so I did some baking post today as an extra and get back to makeup tomorrow!
Im by no means a good cook, and nothing I bake ever looks perfect but I think that's the fun of it, it tastes good, its cheaper to make your own and I just enjoy it!! So today I made chocolate banana bread, I make it all the time as it doesn't last long in my house and I got the ingredients list off the Gino and Mel Lets Do Lunch site. I don't no if I follow the same steps as it said I just took the ingredients list and made the rest up myself.
130g salted butter
150g soft brown sugar
2 medium eggs
100g dark chocolate chopped
3 large over ripe bananas mashed
1tbs baking powder
240g strong white flour
Pinch of salt
Pinch of pepper
1tsp vanilla extract
equipment I used were:
2 large bowls
Wooden spoon
Bread shaped tray
Now its time to get messy
1) First I preheated the oven to around 200oC (fan oven) then in one bowl creamed the sugar and butter together
2) In the same bowl I added the bananas and mashed them in with the sugar and butter
3) To this bowl I added the two eggs and stirred it all together and added the vanilla extract and salt and pepper
4) In the second bowl I sieved the flour and added the baking powder
5) I then chopped the chocolate and added it to the flour

6) This is what you end up with (and the mess), I then added the flour mixture into the other bowl and folded it all together. It doesn't matter how you add them together!
7) I then lined my tray with grease proof paper and poured the mixture in
8) Then put the kettle on while you wait for this in the oven for approx 40 mins :)
Now eat away!! I hope you liked this post, im no professional and always make a total mess but its worth it :) I hope you try it and ill be back 2mo, have a great weekend!! xxx

NYX Haul!!
Its been a bit longer since I last wrote my blog but I have been waiting for tonight for a reason :) Today I went to ProBeauty in Manchester so I new I would have lots to share with you! it was so much fun and there was so much to see ( and buy!!). I would really recommend if you are a beauty student or just getting started as there are lots of offers on starter kits and you can speak directly with the experts for advice.
So under all the temptation I only went a bit crazy on one counter, the NYX counter. I have never tried this brand before but heard so much about it so I thought I would treat my makeup kit to some new things. so here is what I brought I have had a play with them this afternoon so I can review them to. I will not be putting the prices on as they all had a little discount on them.
The first of two palettes brought was this which I could not resist the Glitterati Glitter Cream Palette. The colour of these drew me to them instantly, I thought as it nearly Halloween these will come in handy. I really like that there are really bright neon colours and also more wearable colours. I didn't swatch them until I got home and they are definitely not creamy, they are quite crumbly so you will definitely need a stick base under them. Everyone need glitter in their lives and I cant wait to do a few crazy looks for you.
The next palette I got was this fold out palette, the item number was S101 the Makeup Artist Kit. (That's the name on box)
To the right you have 36 eye shadows some are more matte than other and the pigmentation is pretty good!! I chose this palette as I think its a really good colour scheme for everyone and even if you are just starting out. I has a good range of nudes and bights. I really like the reddish browns and autumn colours which I will definitely get my use out of.
I would have brought this palette just for the eye shadow however this was an added bonus. On the bottom tray you get 5 lip colours all quite nude with a little shimmer, 2 bronzers one light and one darker, one light pink blusher and another more rose blusher, and finally 3 highlight and contour colours. these 3 highlight and contour colours im not too happy on the colours however im sure they will come in handy.
Overall im really happy with this palette, it is a little bulky but im sure you could depot them all into one palette. I like that all I need it together in one place and the eye shadows are all colours I will definitely use, my next few looks I will blog about will be using this palette.
Next I picked up a couple of blushers, you cant have enough pink blush, well I cant anyway and I liked these as they are matte. In the picture the top one is Bourgoeis Pig and the bottom is Peach. I also got the Studio Perfect Photo-Loving Primer. I got the green coloured one for anti redness. I have not tried this on my red areas but I tried it on my hand and it felt so nice and silky.
And the list goes on.. next u got a couple of the famous Jumbo eye pencils ive heard a lot about these so could not resist.

I got the famous  Milk which is the white at the top and also Strawberry Milk. I thought this would look really nice on it own and ive heard the white is amazing as a base for eye shadow. The consistency of these are really nice and they are super bendable.
We are near the end of the list don't worry... now onto lips! im lacking lip pencils in my kit so I picked out a nude, pink and some wintery tones as these will be more popular this season.
I really like the pigmentation of these and the feel of them. The top 2 from the left are Plum and Pale Pink. On the bottom from the left is Prune, Purple Rain and Dolly Pink. I will definitely be getting more of these :)
Second to last are lipsticks I got 3 pink shades, must be into pink at the moment :)

On the left is a more glossy lipstick I don't no the actual name but the colour is Pink Lyric, the other 2 are the matte lipstick and they are in Summer Breeze and Shocking Pink. Im not sure how long lasting they are but I really like the colour payoff and the consistency, they are comfortable to wear.

We are finally at the end of the list, I had to get lip gloss of course. I brought a matte lip cream (centre) and two glosses.
So to the left if the matte lip cream in Milan, it truly is very matte and this nude colour would go with anyone. next is the Mega Shine Gloss in African Queen Love this purple its super vibrant and glossy its probably my favourite purchase of the day. Finally last is the Megga Shine Gloss in LA LA. Really like these lip glosses and I don't find they are too sticky.
Finally there you go, hope you liked my post I enjoyed reviewing these products and I actually really like this brand! Cant wait to put them into use!!
