 My Sugar Skull.
Hi everyone hope you have had a nice weekend, its Monday 2mo :( and all the busyness starts so I thought id enjoy some peace while it lasts and write to you! Today I was a little bored and wanted to try a look that I have been wanting to do for ages... the Sugar Skull.
The sugar skull originated from a Mexican celebration of life called Dea de los muertos or 'Day of the dead.' This celebration happens on the 1st and 2nd of November. It is believed that on the 31st of October the gates of heaven are opened and all spirits of passed children are able to reunite with their families for 24 hours. On the 2nd of November the adults are able to come down to enjoy the celebration prepared for them.
The sugar skulls are made for the deceased to decorate their alters together with candles and also their favourite food and beverages, to encourage and guide them back to their families.
When I started to research the meaning behind these beautiful designs I could not stop, I loved the thought of celebrating the lives of passed ones, and using bright and strong colours to bring back to life an object which normally thought to be scary and dark.
This was my version it was my first time doing anything like this and there is no end to what you can create mine it pretty simple. I used all the NYX products I had in my NYX haul post:
- Gel liner in black
- Jumbo eye pencil in milk
- different colour lip pencils
- Eye shadow palette (didn't have eye pencils in the colours I wanted.
1) First I used the jumbo pencil in milk and blended it all over the face
2) I then drew in the eyes nose and mouth with the gel liner
3) I decorated around the black of the eyes with a pink lip pencil and coloured in the spaces with a yellow eye shadow
4) I contoured around the forehead and jaw with a dark blue mixed with a light purple eye shadow
5) I then added the decoration on the forehead and chin, I kept it simple to start with I didn't want to mess it up.
I like this look as there is real symbolism behind it and plus its not scary at all you make these as colourful as you wish :)
Give it a go and share what you create, and take some time to do the research its not just a pretty design but a whole lot more :) xxx

Baking - Chocolate Banana Bread!
Hi everyone and welcome back! I thought I would share something different with you today :) in my spear time I love baking, ive got an enormous sweet tooth and love making cakes and anything with chocolate in it, I think im actually addicted! ive had a full day off today which doesn't happen very often so I did some baking post today as an extra and get back to makeup tomorrow!
Im by no means a good cook, and nothing I bake ever looks perfect but I think that's the fun of it, it tastes good, its cheaper to make your own and I just enjoy it!! So today I made chocolate banana bread, I make it all the time as it doesn't last long in my house and I got the ingredients list off the Gino and Mel Lets Do Lunch site. I don't no if I follow the same steps as it said I just took the ingredients list and made the rest up myself.
130g salted butter
150g soft brown sugar
2 medium eggs
100g dark chocolate chopped
3 large over ripe bananas mashed
1tbs baking powder
240g strong white flour
Pinch of salt
Pinch of pepper
1tsp vanilla extract
equipment I used were:
2 large bowls
Wooden spoon
Bread shaped tray
Now its time to get messy
1) First I preheated the oven to around 200oC (fan oven) then in one bowl creamed the sugar and butter together
2) In the same bowl I added the bananas and mashed them in with the sugar and butter
3) To this bowl I added the two eggs and stirred it all together and added the vanilla extract and salt and pepper
4) In the second bowl I sieved the flour and added the baking powder
5) I then chopped the chocolate and added it to the flour

6) This is what you end up with (and the mess), I then added the flour mixture into the other bowl and folded it all together. It doesn't matter how you add them together!
7) I then lined my tray with grease proof paper and poured the mixture in
8) Then put the kettle on while you wait for this in the oven for approx 40 mins :)
Now eat away!! I hope you liked this post, im no professional and always make a total mess but its worth it :) I hope you try it and ill be back 2mo, have a great weekend!! xxx

NYX Haul!!
Its been a bit longer since I last wrote my blog but I have been waiting for tonight for a reason :) Today I went to ProBeauty in Manchester so I new I would have lots to share with you! it was so much fun and there was so much to see ( and buy!!). I would really recommend if you are a beauty student or just getting started as there are lots of offers on starter kits and you can speak directly with the experts for advice.
So under all the temptation I only went a bit crazy on one counter, the NYX counter. I have never tried this brand before but heard so much about it so I thought I would treat my makeup kit to some new things. so here is what I brought I have had a play with them this afternoon so I can review them to. I will not be putting the prices on as they all had a little discount on them.
The first of two palettes brought was this which I could not resist the Glitterati Glitter Cream Palette. The colour of these drew me to them instantly, I thought as it nearly Halloween these will come in handy. I really like that there are really bright neon colours and also more wearable colours. I didn't swatch them until I got home and they are definitely not creamy, they are quite crumbly so you will definitely need a stick base under them. Everyone need glitter in their lives and I cant wait to do a few crazy looks for you.
The next palette I got was this fold out palette, the item number was S101 the Makeup Artist Kit. (That's the name on box)
To the right you have 36 eye shadows some are more matte than other and the pigmentation is pretty good!! I chose this palette as I think its a really good colour scheme for everyone and even if you are just starting out. I has a good range of nudes and bights. I really like the reddish browns and autumn colours which I will definitely get my use out of.
I would have brought this palette just for the eye shadow however this was an added bonus. On the bottom tray you get 5 lip colours all quite nude with a little shimmer, 2 bronzers one light and one darker, one light pink blusher and another more rose blusher, and finally 3 highlight and contour colours. these 3 highlight and contour colours im not too happy on the colours however im sure they will come in handy.
Overall im really happy with this palette, it is a little bulky but im sure you could depot them all into one palette. I like that all I need it together in one place and the eye shadows are all colours I will definitely use, my next few looks I will blog about will be using this palette.
Next I picked up a couple of blushers, you cant have enough pink blush, well I cant anyway and I liked these as they are matte. In the picture the top one is Bourgoeis Pig and the bottom is Peach. I also got the Studio Perfect Photo-Loving Primer. I got the green coloured one for anti redness. I have not tried this on my red areas but I tried it on my hand and it felt so nice and silky.
And the list goes on.. next u got a couple of the famous Jumbo eye pencils ive heard a lot about these so could not resist.

I got the famous  Milk which is the white at the top and also Strawberry Milk. I thought this would look really nice on it own and ive heard the white is amazing as a base for eye shadow. The consistency of these are really nice and they are super bendable.
We are near the end of the list don't worry... now onto lips! im lacking lip pencils in my kit so I picked out a nude, pink and some wintery tones as these will be more popular this season.
I really like the pigmentation of these and the feel of them. The top 2 from the left are Plum and Pale Pink. On the bottom from the left is Prune, Purple Rain and Dolly Pink. I will definitely be getting more of these :)
Second to last are lipsticks I got 3 pink shades, must be into pink at the moment :)

On the left is a more glossy lipstick I don't no the actual name but the colour is Pink Lyric, the other 2 are the matte lipstick and they are in Summer Breeze and Shocking Pink. Im not sure how long lasting they are but I really like the colour payoff and the consistency, they are comfortable to wear.

We are finally at the end of the list, I had to get lip gloss of course. I brought a matte lip cream (centre) and two glosses.
So to the left if the matte lip cream in Milan, it truly is very matte and this nude colour would go with anyone. next is the Mega Shine Gloss in African Queen Love this purple its super vibrant and glossy its probably my favourite purchase of the day. Finally last is the Megga Shine Gloss in LA LA. Really like these lip glosses and I don't find they are too sticky.
Finally there you go, hope you liked my post I enjoyed reviewing these products and I actually really like this brand! Cant wait to put them into use!!

My weekend outfits.
For once I have had a busy weekend this week and I have had lots of fun, I've been out for drinks and also had my brothers birthday party too. So now I've jumped into my joggers and have a brew in my hand I thought I would share the outfits I've worn. This is my first post about my outfits so I apologise if the pics are not the best quality :)
I went for drinks on Friday with my friend, most of what I have on is from Topshop the crop top was £3.00 in the sale the jeans are £38.00 I really like this type as the material is soft and a little stretchy so they fit really nice and are so comfy, the necklace was £10.00 and the shoes were from Newlook in the sale for £11.00. The whole outfit was £62.00.
This is what I wore for my brothers party again most is from Topshop which is not intentional! the trousers where £42.00 top £6.00 necklace £10.00 heels were Newlook £19.99 I have no idea how much I paid for the clutch and blazer but the clutch was from Newlook and the blazer was from Topshop any would match though as there is so many colours in the trousers.
So there is just a quick post there will be more in the week, hope you liked it and have all enjoyed your weekends too :) xx
