A Vampy Valentines!

Hi everyone and welcome back! The weather outside is shocking today, its pooring with rain outside its it all dark and gloomy :( since I have the full day to myself and refuse to step out in this I thought I would test my new camera out and do a makeup look for you today. I have chosen to do a valentines makeup look as its getting close now and Im sure a lot of you will be doing something special with your loved ones or going out with your friends. I don't usually wear my makeup this strong however I thought id go for it!

So this is the look its super simple to do and it deffinatelty suits the valentines theme! You dont have to use the same products as me any which are similar colours will work just fine! And you can chose to leave the bold lip out if you wanted too and go for a nice nude.

MAC Paintpot in Blackground
MAC Eyeshadow in Carbon
MAC Eshadow in Folie
Mac Eshadow in Ricepaper
Loreal Infaillable Eyeliner in Chocolate Addiction
Maybelline Mega Plush Volume Mascara
Rimmel Exaggerate Liquid Liner Black
Benefit Brow Zings Light
Anastasia Tinted Brow Gel inBrunette
Any False Lashes

I started with the eyes first which always helps when working with dark shadows as its easy to clean up any fall out. I Firstly did my eyebrows using the browzings powder and the set them with the brow gel. Next I applied the paint pit all over the lid and into the inner corners of the eye. I then applied carbon eyeshadow all over the paint pot and started to blend into the crease. I used the folie eyeshadow to blend out the carbon up towards the brow bone. I finally used ricepaper to highlight the brow bone and made sure there was no harsh lines and everything was blended. For the under eye I ran the paint pot all the way under and smoked this out using a mixture of carbon and folie. I lined the top lid with a small line of liquid liner and the bottom water line with the brown pencil to soften it slightly. I finished with a few coats of mascara and false lashes.

Tip: use a piece if card or tape at the side of you eyes to help create the straight line when blending out.

MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation
MAC Pro Lingwear Concealer
Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel
Ben Ney Cameo Powder
Benefit Hoola Bronzer
Nyx Peach Blush
The Balm Mary Lou Manizer

I started with applying foundation all over the face with the beauty blender. I concealed the under eyes, bridge of the nose, centre of the forehead and chin with the concealer to highlight. I then contoured the cheekbones and the top of the forehead with the chanel bronzer and blended out. I set all of the concealer with the loose powder and applied a little hoola bronzer over the forehead and under the cheekbones. I finished with the peach blush in the cheekbones and highlighter on top of thecheek bones.

Tip: less is more with more with foundation and concealer. Its always easier to apply more than take away.

Nyx Lip Pencil in Plum
MAC Diva Lipstick

I applied the lip pencil all over the lips with the lipstick on top.

Tip: use a lip brush to help you get straight lined when using strong coloured lipstics.

So there is my vampy valentines look guys hope you like it. I will try to do some more different looks over the next week or so!

Mid Week Must Have!

Hey everyone its time again for my mid week must and this week im loving ...

These 2 face masks from lush! I have never brought anything from or been into lush as I have always thought is was just soaps and bath salts, plus I thought their products were all very perfumed and whould not agree with my sensitive skin. HOW WRONG WAS I!! Im really into face masks at the moment as the weather is battering my skin, I saw jacklyn hill talk about one of these masks on youtube and I thought id go have a look! I think I have a new little obsession with these products now. I love that all of their products are made from natural ingredients and their pots are all made from recycled plastic. Plus all of the cosmetics are hand made and on my masks they also tell you who made it and when! How cool is that.

So I read through all the masks to see what was most suitable for my skin and unfortunately they use almonds and their oil in alot of them and i am massively allergic to nuts :( however i did find some that i could try so i piked these:

Mask of magnaminty £5.25:As you can see by the name this has a nice minty scent to it. This is mainly aimed towards oily skin types which are prone to blemishes. It can also be used anywhere on the body in times of breakouts which I thought was a really good idea. I have used this a few times now and although im not oily I did like it. I only left it on for around 5 minitues as I started to feel a little dried out, you can leave it on for up to 10 minutes though. This mask is really nice and cooling on the skin you can also feel it a tightening sensation too. I liked how my skin looked after i has washed it off, my pores in the T-zone area were smaller and my skin looked really clean and healthy! Overall a myst try for oily skin tones, I will deffinately use this again.

Cupcake £5.95: This was my favourite out of the two and not just because it smells like your rubbing chocolate all over your face! This is aimed towards younger teenage skin and oily skin types however I actually found this quite moisturising. I left this on for the full 10 minutes and it did not feel drying at all. I used this two days in a row and the small blemishes i did have were gone! My skin looked really nice after and I have been getting complements too! Overall I think this will be my regular mask from now on, plus who doesnt smell like chocolate all day :)

So there you go, sorry I have rambled a little. Im really excited i have found this brand, I really like its values as a company and the product range is massive they have everything, and from what I have tried they are great and really work! Im already window shopping on what im getting next :)

My New Best Friend!

Hiya everyone hope you are all having a good weekend! So if you follow me on twitter or instagram you would have seen that I went shopping yesterday, haven't been in a while and got loads of exciting goodies I will be sharing with you over the next couple of weeks. The main thing I went to buy is a new camera, as I have been getting more into my blog and am doing makeup a lot more I thought it would be a good investment so today I thought id show you what I will be using from now on...

So after alot of researching and help from the shop assistant this is what i chose. The canon 600D. Even though i am a complete novice i am very pleased with my choice. The instructions are so easy to understand and it fully explains all the different functions, what they do and  what  situations you use them in. The camera is comfortable and not heavy and the pictures look so good! It also has a flip out screen too. I no this is not the best camera on the market but its perfect for everything i will be using it for!

Im so excited to get it and cant wait to start experimenting and creating better pictures for you guys! Maybe even a few tutorials for you too :)

Mid Week Must Have!

This is my mid week must have from 2 weeks ago and I have only just seen that it never published, so I though id would share it now...

Hi everyone, im back to doing my mid week must haves :) I no i go on about eye creams and ive posted about so many but i have found one thst trumps them all!

I suffer so much with sensitive sore and dry eyes so im trying new ones all the time. I saw Tanya Burr use this once in a video and i came accross it when I was shopping and got it. I have been using it for about a month now and its the most amazing eye cream ive used yet!

This is the Clarins eye contour balm its £29.00 and suitable for all skin types. I would never usually spend this much on an eye cream however i got it at Debenhams and thete was 10% off at the time so i went for it. You get 20ml if product which i thought was really good and i no it will last a long time. I have been applying it morning and night after cleansing around the contour of the eye and it absorbs straight away which i like and does not sit on the skin. There is a slight scent to it but only when you smell the tube you can not tell at all when you apply it. It is ment to soften fine lines although i dont really have fine lines i can honestly say the skin around my eyes have never been softer! My eyes have not itched or been sore since i have been using this which has never happened with any other cream. Makeup applies fine over the top of it, and my under eye concealer looks alot smoother to. There is also a gel too however i thought the cream was best for me. I have never tried anything from clarins before however i will be trying more of their skin care.

This is deffinatelty my new found love :).

Mid Week Must Have!

Hey everyone its time for my mid week must have and this week its...

This week its the Bourjois effet 3D lip gloss, £7.99 in shade 51. I got this from superdrug about 2 weeks ago and I have worn nothing else since. I have been looking for an everyday gloss for some time now however the drugstore ones tend to be a bit too glittery and sticky. These caught my eye as they were not as glittery, they only have a small amount of shimmer in them and there are some like this one which has no glitter or shimmer particles at all. I loved the colour too, I did try to swatch it for you but because of the light you cold hardly see it. it is a lovely sheer nude pink and... it smells of love hearts too!! it looks great on its own or over a nude lipstick just to add a bit more shine. It also says it offers 8hr moisture, and even though I find I do have to re-apply through the day it is moisturising. It does not dry my lips out at all and its very comfy to wear too.

This was my favourite colour at the time however there are some other really nice nudes I will also try, it will suit anybody and is perfect for everyday as it just adds a little extra colour and shine. What is your everyday lip gloss?

P.s Hopefully I will be getting a new camera this weekend so I will be able to take better pictures for you :) im so excited, so if I do I will do I post at the weekend!

BareMinerals Get Started Kit!

Hi everyone today I wanted to do a little review on this BareMinerals get started kit £50.00. I brought this for my mum for Christmas as she hasn't really got much makeup and I wanted to treat her! I chose this brand as I have heard so many good things about it and I though this kit was such a brilliant idea as you get everything you need to get started.

(sorry about the picture quality my phone is playing up I think)
So this is what it looks like, the empty space on the right is where you chose your colour of foundation. In this kit you get full size foundation which was great!

I was so happy with everything you get in this kit, I think it could be made better by having a blusher however you don't really need it as you get the warmth all over face powder:
Booklet guide
DVD guide
Full size foundation
Mineral Veil
Prime time 15ml
Full flawless face brush
Flawless application brush
Maximum cover concealer brush
This kit is perfect if you have never tried this brand before or if you are new to makeup in general, Firstly because you get everything you need and you only have to get colour matched for your foundation all the other products can be used on all skin tones which makes it much more simple. secondly because they have made it so easy for you to understand and learn how to use everything. The booklet shows you what you have in the kit and what they are all used for. The DVD Shows and explains further how to apply each product with the brushed you get. It also shows you extra stages such as using their eye shadows and  blushes too.
So ill tell you further about the products you get in this kit:
The Prime time is to apply all over the face, this makes you makeup last longer and apply on more smoothly.
You chose your foundation I chose the original one as give a natural finish with a little glow. you can use your chosen application brush to apply depending on what coverage you want.
The Warmth, is an all over face powder for any skin tone, you only need the smallest amount and apply this to the areas of the face the sun would hit. this adds depth and warmth to your complexion
The Mineral veil is a translucent finishing powder which will hold everything in place all day. This absorbs oil, and minimize the look of fine lines and pores.
So overall this is a perfect gift idea for someone or for yourself :) the products are great quality and great for your skin. A little product goes a long way too, they are super blendable and feel so comfy on your skin. I like that they are suitable for all skin types and tones and the colour ranges are great. This brand really knows what its customers want and need. I will definitely be treating my mum to more!

My Four Favourite Foundations!

HI everyone, hope this post turns out ok as im having to do it ony phone as computer is being stupid! Today im going to tell you my four favourite foundations which i use all the time. I have tried many different ones and i will continue too however these are the ones i have and will keep repurchasing :) as i have dry skin i do prefer more dewy than matte foundations so there are similarities between them all however they can be for any skin type.

So the first one is the l'oreal true match foundation £9.99. This is the first foundation i ever brought and have stuck with it ever since. I think this is probably the best drugstore foundation there is! Its medium to build-able coverage and it really silky and smooth on the skin. I would say this would suit any skin type as it is not too dewy or too matte. There is another version of this foundation called l'oreal true match lumi whichis more  luminous however i found this brakes me out. For the price its a lovely foundation which will give you a flawless finish. I dont think you can go wrong with this at all plus the shade range is huge.

Next is MAC studio sculp foundation £25.00. I went into MAC for help on foundation and came out with this and the girl was so helpfull! The only thing im not to keen on is the smell however it does fade out after a while of wearing it. It dors have an spf of 15 however i have not had trouble with flashbacksat all. The coverage is meduim and is definitely build-able and it does have a really nice glow on the skin. I dont set this with powder as i dont need to but you can if you prefer to. I also like the packaging to as you can squeeze the right amout out so you dont waste any.

Next is the Revlon photoready foundation £12.99 this is my go to day time foundation. This has an spf of 20 which is great for day time and it does have very fine amounts of shimmer in it which give a lovely glow. I only use this in the day not at night as i have experienced flash back with this a few times. It is again medium to full coverage and you dont need alot of product either which i like. If you have oily skin this may not be the one for you although you can use powder over it.

Finally my favourite of all is the Illamasqua skin base foundation £27.00. This is the most expensive of all of my foundations but it is worth every last penny! This does not have any spf so you dont have to worry about any flash back at all. If you want to you can apply an spf underneath it. The coverage is again medium so build able and its super easy to sheer out to. This really feels like a seconed skin and you can not feel it at all on your skin. I have usef this on all skin types and it looks beautiful on all. Its naturally glowy and really hydrating through the day. This is definately my alltime favourite foundation and will be for a long time!!

So there is my top four foundations all different prices but all really good. Feel free to share yours too :)

5 Steps To Conceal!

We have all been the victim of the dreaded blemish and it always usually pops up at the wrong time and it can be embarrassing too. weather you are prone to getting them or only get them once in a while its always helpful to know how best to conceal them. I don't usually get them too often but its that time of year that we all get run down with the cold and flu, and its usually then we are more likely to get them. I don't change my skincare routine I just let them go in their own time but I do need extra cover when I do my makeup.

I wanted to share 5 simple steps to make sure your blemishes are concealed for the whole day so I lets go:

1. Use a green coloured primer. This will help reduce the redness, as well as make sure your makeup stays all day. This is also a good choice if you have red pigmentation in your skin.

2. Use a concealer designed for covering blemishes NOT for example an under eye or highlighting concealer as these more sheer or brightening and you don't want to draw attention to and are we want to hide.

3. Use a concealer that is the exact same colour as your foundation. Too dark or too light will draw attention to the area you want to conceal. I personally like to apply concealer after foundation then I only need to touch up what that hasn't already covered.

4. When applying weather it be with your fingers, a sponge or small brush it is always best to dab and pat the concealer onto the area you want to cover as this provides the best coverage.

5. Use a setting powder to set your makeup. This will make sure nothing moves, you can either use a shade the same as your foundation for more coverage or a translucent powder. Use the same technique when applying as above, press it onto the skin instead of buffing as you don't want to move around what you have just spent time applying.

So just a short post today Ill be back over the weekend. Hope you found this helpful :)

'When You Just Don't Have The Time' Make up!

Hi everyone hope you have had a an amazing Christmas and New Year! Its been a busy one for me too however its always over so quickly. Its back to early mornings for school and work again, while our body clock gets back into it routine the last thing you want to be stressing about in the mornings is your makeup! We don't all have hours or our own makeup artist on hand in the morning :(

To help im going to share with you my makeup routine when I just don't have a lot of time, if im in a rush or I just don't want to wear a lot of makeup this is what I use and how I apply them.
first of all I'll put my hair in a bun, we don't always have time to get the curlers or straighteners out but putting it in a bun looks pretty with minimum effort. Then I'll moisturise normally then we are ready to get started.
1. Prime the face with Revlon PhotoReady primer, this will help our foundation stay all day.
2. Apply Clinique Moisture surge with your preferred technique. I personally use the real techniques expert face brush. I love this tinted moisturiser as I like the coverage, it evens out my skin tone, leaves a nice glow, and its moisturising through the day.
3. Apply MAC Mineralize concealer to the under eyes to cover dark circles.
4. Apply the Chanel bronzer to the cheekbones forehead and jaw. This just warms the face a little and creates shape.
5. Apply a small amount Hoola Bronzer over the face to set the cream brwozer, then apply Sleek blush in Guipure out of the lace palette to the cheeks.
6. Fill in the brows with Benefit Brow Zings then go over them with Anastasia tinted brow gel. This will keep them in place all day.
7. Then apply a small line of L'Oreal gel intenza eyeliner to the tops of the eyes and apply a couple of coats of Maybelline mega plush volume mascara to the top and bottom lashes.
8. Finally apply a the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle to highlight the cheekbones, under the brows, down the nose and forehead.
9. Spray MAC fix+ all over the face so it wont budge
10. Finally apply Maybelline baby lips to your lips. I love this as it is so moisturising and its glossy to!
So thats it, 10 easy steps when your in a rush :) I hope you found this helpful and you don't have to use these products you can change to what suits you! Thank you for reading and ill be back soon xox
