The Orange Lip!

Hi everyone and welcome back, this summer its all about the orange lip, however if bright orange scares you a little like it did me, you can always start off with corals first. Today im going to share my take on an easy orange lip, ive kept it really simple jus focusing on strong brows and lips and I think its perfect for summer days and for anyone to wear :)

Base:
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector shade Pearl
Makeup Forever HD Foundation
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
Rimmel Natural Bronzer shade 022
Sleek Lace Palette shade Chantilly

I first mixed the liquid highlighter with the foundation on the back of my hand and applied it all over the face. This made my skin really illuminated and naturally glowing. I then concealed my under eye dark circles. I didn't set with powder to keep it looking more natural. I finished with applying bronzer to areas the sun would hit and blusher on the cheeks.

Eyes:
Benefit Brow Zings
Benefit Gimme Brow
Rimmel Bronzer
Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Pencil shade Demolition
Maybelline Mega Plush Mascara
Benefit Bright Eyes Pencil

I started with my brows making the a little darker and thicker than usual as im hardly putting anything on the eyes and want these to stand out. I started with the brow zings then going over to thicken with the gimme brow. I then applied a little bronzer in the crease for a little definition then thinly lined the top lash line. I chose a dark brown pencil as I only wanted to make the lashes appear thicker plus I thought this shade would work better with corals. I finished my using the bright eyes pencil in the water line to brighten them and applying mascara to the top and bottom lashed. I also dotted the brown eye pencil randomly along the bottom lashes just to thicken them slightly.

Lips:
Urban Decay 24/7 Lip Pencil shade Streak
Urban Decay Lipstick shade Streak
Bourjois Effet 3D Lip gloss shade 52

I applied the lip pencil all over the lips then the lipstick and gloss over the top. These lipsticks are so moisturising and comfortable to wear. They are the nicest formula iv ever tried!

So there is my take on a simple orange lip, you can change it around and add more to the eyes for night time. Its perfect for summer and will look great with a tan too. Once you are more comfortable wearing bolder colours you can go more brighter and more orange. I hope you like it!

How To Make Your Makeup Last All Day: 10 Tips!

Hey everyone and welcome back, today im going to give some tips on something all of us makeup lovers have to deal with... keeping your makeup looking the same all day. I personally hate having to re-apply different products throughout the day. Weather you have dry or oily skin, makeup can tend to move around a little so here are a few things you can do to help prevent this.

1. Prep your skin properly. Cleansing and moisturising your skin before applying makeup is very important as it creates the base all makeup is applied to. Use a moisturiser suitable to your personal skin type, for example for oily skin a moisturiser that helps prevent you getting oily through the day will help stop foundation moving around. For dry skins a really hydrating moisturiser will help prevent you from drying out through the day.

2. Use a Primer. There are so many primers on the market, if you have combination to oily skin using a primer that is matifying and that fills in pores will help stop you from getting shiny and oily through the day and stop makeup moving around. For dry skin a primer may not be as important, however using one which is hydrating will help stop makeup drying out also a primer does help to stop makeup settling in fine lines.

3. Set your makeup with powder. Setting with any sort of powder will help keep your base in place, if you feel like it looks a little matte you can always apply some highlighter to add a glow. Especially set under eye concealer as this will stop concealer settling in fine lines and looking cakey during the day.

4. Use cream blushes under powder ones. Using a cream blush then a powder one over the top will keep the colour on your face all day without it wearing off. This tip can also be using with contour products.

5. Use an eyebrow gel. These can be clear or the same colour as your brows they will set any powder and all hairs in place so they will not move all day.

6. Prime the eyes. Use an eye shadow primer or a concealer to create a sticky base for powder eye shadow to keep them in place all day.

7. Use cream eye shadows. Cream eye shadows are more likely to last all day, they will not settle in fine lines or move around or will they drop down onto your face. You can also use cream eye shadows as your primer and setting them with powder shadows for extra security and pigmentation.

8. Apply eye shadow over gel or liquid liner to set. Applying an eye shadow over your liner will set it in place so it will not wear off through the day

9. Use a lip liner all over the lips. This helps make your lipstick last as long as possible.

10. Use a setting spray. These do work and fix your makeup in place for the day. There are all different kinds for oil control, hydrating and heatproof to suit your personal preference.

So there are a few of my tips im sure a lot of you will already know some of these but I hope you find a few of them useful. Thank you and ill be back tomorrow.

Mid Week Must Have!

Hey everyone and welcome back to my mid week must have, its just a short one today but its a product I have fell in love with.

This week its the Collection lasting perfection concealer £4.19 and I got this from Superdrug a few weeks ago. I got it mainly because I had seen a few you tubers using it and thought for the price why not. From the first time I used I honestly thought it was one of, if not THE best concealer I own. This concealer is very creamy and blendable but also very good coverage at the same time. For a more fuller coverage concealer it is not thick and heavy at all, it will cover your blemishes and also be comfortable to use under the eyes to cover your dark circles without creasing or settling in fine lines.

I use this for day time to cover my dark circles and any redness it really brightens my eyes and a little goes a long way. I also use this for nights out when I am doing more strong highlighting and contouring its a great product for highlighting the under eyes down the nose and forehead as I find it to be brightening. Its also not cakey at all and it gives you a very flawless finish. The staying power is also great, I don't always use powder to set my makeup as I have dry skin and weather I do or don't this easily lasts all day and on a night out too which I love. I have also tried different methods to apply this, a sponge, brushes, fingers and they all create a lovely finish. I honestly can not say enough good things about this product its so versatile and has all the qualities of an amazing concealer. I honestly don't no what I would do without it now, this is definitely a must have for any makeup bag.

Sunday Glam!

Hey everyone hope you have all had a good weekend, iv'e not stopped much this weekend which is why I did not post yesterday but this morning I did a really neutral makeup look  so I thought id share it. I no its not really in your face perfect but it is Sunday and I have just been chilling and I wanted to use my new nude lips which I last posted about. Its really natural and perfect for day time, Ive also tried to use mainly drugstore products so its also affordable.

Face:
Revlon PhotoReady foundation
Collection Lasting Perfectin Concealer
Urban Decay Loose Finishing Powder
Rimmel Natural Bronzer shade 002 Sun Bronze
NYX Blusher shade Peach
Revlon Highlighting Palette shade 020 Rose Glow

I did a really simple base by applying my foundation first then concealing the under eyes to hide any dark circles. I then used the loose powder to set it. I didn't do any contouring I just applied a little bronzer to warm the face by applying it where the sun would normally hit, cheeks, little on the nose and around the forehead. I finished with blusher on the cheeks and he highlighter over the top.

Eyes:
Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Liner
Maybelline MegaPlush Mascara
Benefit Bright Eyes Pencil
Benefit Brow Wiz
Benefit Gimme Brow

I first filled in my brows using the brow wiz powder then went over with the gimme brow to set. I then lined the top of the lid with the gel liner, ending with a small wing. I then applied a couple of coats of mascara top and bottom. I finished with lining the water line with the eye pencil to brighten them and make hem look wider.

Lips:
NYX Lip Pencil shade Pale Pink
Revlon ColorBurst Lipt Butter shade Crème Brulee
L'Oreal Liquid Lipstick shade 601 Nude Ballet

I applied the lip pencil all over the lips then the lipstick over the top then the liquid lipstick over that for a more glossy effect. This is my favourite lip look at the moment.

So that it my natural look for a relaxing Sunday I hope you like it and ill be back soon.

New Perfect Nudes And Swatches!

Hi guys and welcome back! so this week I have been on the hunt for the perfect nude lipstick! I own so many pinks and dark colours however the one staple I don't own I a proper nude! Kim K has made this one of the most popular lip looks to go with her flawless smokey eyes, and I also think its beautiful for day time too. Although I find that in the drugstore a perfect nude shade is so hard to find!. With having fair skin I always get drawn to the more pink toned nudes however I have searched high and low for my perfect more beige nude shade and I have finally found 2!

I thought these would maybe be a bit dark for me however they really complement my skin and I think they will look great with more dramatic eyes. So the first one is the L'Oreal L'extraordinaire Liquid Lipstck and this is in the shade 601 Nude Ballet. These are a new product and are meant to have the colour intensity of a lipstick, the shine of a lipgloss and the softness of a balm. first off I love the packaging I like that you can see the colour on the side and the bottom and I also like the small size. The applicator is really nice and makes it easy to apply too. The pigmentation is very good just like a lipstick and the finish is quite glossy. It feels really nice not sticky at all and even though I did have to re -apply it didn't dry out my lips at all. Overall a great product and exactly what I was looking for.

Second is the Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter and this is in the shade Crème Brulee this again is the perfect beige nude tone, this is a lip butter therefor more moisturising and it glides on really smoothly. This creamy texture will never dry your lips out and it has nice slightly glossy finish. These are so comfortable to wear and the colour pay off it  great.

These are the swatches, the top is the Revlon Lip butter and the bottom is the L'Oreal liquid lipstick. Both have a lovely finish and they also look really nice worn together! If you are looking for a nice nude I would give either of these a try I think they are lovely for any skin tone and are perfect for any makeup look. I am so pleased with them and I am sure I will be using these in my next makeup look posts!

Let me know about the nude shades you like too so I can give them a look :)

Reaching 100 Followers!! and tips from a novice.

Hi everyone I wanted to do a little catch up post today as at the weekend I reached 100 followers on my blog :) I was so happy  and excited when I got the notification! I started blogging late last year  as I had just qualified as a make up artist and wanted to share all kinds makeup things and I enjoy it so much! but I never thought that many people would actually read it. I get taken into my own little world when im writing about makeup and reading all your lovely blogs and talking to you! so I just wanted to say a big thank you to all my followers and readers!

Tips from a novice:

I am in no ways a blogging genius and I am learning every day about posting, taking pictures and so on but I think these little things help you along the way!

Always be yourself - I think people can always tell when someone is not being genuine, be true to yourself and let the blogging community get to no you.

Believe in what you are writing - Always give your own honest opinion. Don't write about how much you love a product just because other people have said they love it. If you don't like something about a product say why, as everyone is different and products effect people in different ways. This will also show people you are being true to yourself and beliefs.

Take good pictures - I do think that pictures make a big difference to a blog, for me personally when im looking for new blogs I always look at the pictures first. Not only so I can see the quality of them but its a quick insight to what that person posts about without having to read multiple posts to decide weather or not you wish to follow. You don't have to buy the most expensive camera just play around with positioning items you are photographing and making nice backgrounds with flowers etc. I sometime use bedding with a nice pattern for my background.

Post regularly and ENJOY IT :) - Don't just post for the sake of posting, if you feel like you don't have anything to post about just leave it until another day. The better quality of your posts the more people will come back to read more.

So there you go guys thank you again and I look forward to learning a lot more and posting a lot more!

Summer Smokey Eye!

Hey everyone sorry I didn't post yesterday I was out most of the day and ive been wanting to do another makeup look post so I saved it for today! Today ive done a smokey eye using browns and oranges, I chose these colours as they are softer and I think they are better for summer time and I find browns suit my eye colour better! I have tried out some of the new products out during this to so I will do a little extra note on what I think of those too!

face.
Makeup Forever HD Foundation
MAC Prolongwear Concealer
Urban Decay Ultra Definition Loose Finishing Powder
Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel
Benefit Hoola Bronzer
Sleek Blush Palette in Lace shade Chantilly
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Soft and Gentle

Its looking a bit washed out but, I was using natural sunlight and it was annoying me! I applied the Foundation using a buffing brush then concealed under the eyes, down the nose, centre of the forehead and chin. I set the concealer with the loose powder. I contoured slightly using the Chanel cream bronzer, then buffed this out with the hoola bronzer. I applied a little blush on the cheeks and then highlighted the top of them, the cupids bow centre of the forehead and down the nose.

* MUFE HD Foundation - was so excited to get this but it just isn't working with my skin at the moment, I thought it would be higher coverage! I do like the finish and will carry on using it but not for when I do looks like this.

* Urban Decay Finishing Powder - Really like this, its silky smooth and sets everything really well  and doesn't settle in any lines! First time I have used it and really like it.

Eyes:
MAC Prolongwear concealer
MAC Folie Eyeshadow
MAC Rule Eyeshadow
MAC Wedge Eyeshadow
Maybelline Eyestudio Gel Liner
Avon Khol Black Eyeliner
Maybeline Mega Plush Mascara
Benefit Gimme Brow
Benefit Brow Zings
Any False lashes

I first went through my brows with the gimme brow then went over the top with my brow zings powder. I then primed my eyes with concealer, I chose this as I have a lot of visible veins and redness at the moment so I needed extra coverage to make my base. I then applied wedge eye shadow all over the lid. I used rule in the crease and blended upwards towards the brow. To make sure there was no harsh lines I used a little wedge to blend them out. I lined the top lash line with a wing at the end with the gel liner. I lined the water line with the black pencil liner, I then appled rule to the centre of the bottom lash line, and joined it up each end with folie, and blended blended blended! I finished with mascara and false lashes.

* Gimme Brow - Not to sure what I think of this yet, wish I had got the darker one as it makes my brows slightly lighter than I like. I think its great for when you are on the go however when im wearing more makeup it doesn't really make much difference. Im also not very fond of how it dries either.... ill keep giving I a go!

Lips:
Nyx Lip Liner in Pale Pink
Bourjois 3D Effet Lipgloss 52

I applied the lip liner all over the lips as I didn't have a lipstick in the colour I wanted. I finished with applying the lip gloss in the centre of the lips only just to give a little dimension.

So there you go guys, let me no what you think. I think its perfect for summer when you still want to do a smokey eye and I think the orange makes it look a little different!

Mid Week Must Have!

Hey its time for my mid week must have! You may think im getting a bit ahead of myself with this weeks product but if you keep reading you will see why.

Protecting your skin against the sun is so important and I didn't realise just how much until I actually studied it a couple of years ago. Im not going to throw facts or science at you however I would encourage everyone to do a little research and become aware of the dangers of sun damage to the skin and how to prevent and look after yourself. As your face is exposed constantly its very important to take extra care of this area!

I personal like to take extra care in the sun as I have fair skin, auburn hair and have soo many freckles I cant count them, all of these added together equal skin with the highest risk of damage from the sun. Even though I am not too prone to burning, I am prone to getting sun spots, and I catch the sun instantly which is why I start early in the spring with sun protection.

*Sun spots (hyper-pigmentation) are round flat brown discolouration's on the skin cause by the sun and usually appear on the back of the hands, face and neck.  It is usually more mature skin 40+ which these are more visible due them developing due to exposure over time to the sun. This is why they are also known as another name... age spots!!!

Due to my fair skin the sun spots have arrived a lot earlier in my life and this is why I am showing you this product I have been using for the last couple of years to help with this problem. The sun has finally come out this past week and even though it is not that strong I have been getting into the routine off using this product as I am outside a lot of the day. This is a sun cream specially designed to help reduce the signs of sun damage and aging. It is also designed for the face so it does not break me out or irritate my skin. I apply this every morning when I no its going to be sunny over my moisturiser. Because this is a face product it sits really well under makeup. It does not dry your skin out it makes it feel really soft and hydrated. It does have a scent to it but its not a strong sun cream smell, its really nice and fresh. This cream is light, non greasy and non shine however it does brighten the face making it look really healthy and slightly illuminated.

I think this is a great product to have in your bad in the summer and not only if you have fair skin. It protects you and helps prevent the aging effects of the sun. I love it and I also have the body cream in this range too. Its so easy to add into your morning skincare routine and I cant rave about it enough :)

How To Apply Foundation!

We have all asked the questions about how to apply foundation, the truth is there is no correct answer! Everyone has their own preferences on what tools they prefer and what looks best on their skin. I have narrowed it down to 5 most popular ways to apply foundation and im going to tell you a bit about them all so you can try and find what suits you. :)

Flat Paddle Brush.

This is one of the most recognisable foundation brushes and also the first I ever used. Apply the foundation using upwards and downwards motions to create an even layer on the skin. The end of the brush is rounded making it easy to get around tricky areas like around the eyes. When you have applied the foundation I would usually go back with the bush and simply pat over the face to make sure there are no streak marks. I think you get medium to full coverage using this type of bush and you may also find you have to wash them more regularly.

Buffing Brush.

A very popular brush and one I use on a day to day basis. They are very easy to use with circular buffing motions and the foundation looks very natural as it is worked into the skin. This is the best brush to achieve a sheer to medium coverage foundation however you can build it up! I don't usually use this for a night out when I want more coverage. With this brush you get a flawless even finish with minimal effort and I would definitely recommend this type.

Stippling Brush.

A little similar to a buffing brush in the sense that you use the same buffing motions to massage the foundation over the skin. With these type of brushes, the bottom part is very dense compared the top which is which means the brush does not absorb all your foundation and ables you to use it all. I think with this brush you can achieve sheer to full coverage depending how much product you use. They are a very good brush they create an even flawless finish with ease and they are very versatile.

Sponge.

They come in all shapes and sizes and are very useful to have if you are makeup artist as you can use a fresh one every time! I prefer the rounded sponges like the beauty blender which is my favourite way to apply foundation. Use the damp and apply in patting motions over the skin, you can create sheer to full coverage again however I prefer these to achieve full coverage as it does not end up looking cakey is flawless and perfectly blended.

Fingers.

Finally the cheapest option is your fingers. It can get a little messy however a lot of people prefer to use this method. You can achieve sheer to full coverage, with the warmth of your hands warming the foundation helping it to blend really naturally. This method gives you the best control as you can place the foundation and blend where you like.

So there you go guys, this is my take on what I think about these methods and I hope you found it helpful.

Ive been shopping! Haul and first thoughts!

Hey guys so ive been shopping today, and I hardly ever do haul post as I don't usually buy that much in one go however Debenhams had a sale, so I thought why not show you. I have tried all these since I have got home so I have a few first impressions however I cant go into too much detail until I have been using them for a while. The only product I have missed off is the Makeup Forever HD foundation which I want to do a review on soon. I have not linked all the products as I only went to  two places so I will like these instead: Debenhams and Boots.

First off I got this light yellow top from warehouse, they have soo many nice summery tops in and this really caught my eye as I don't own anything yellow. I have always been put off by this colour as I never thought it would go with my hair however I tried it on and fell in love with it.

2nd I needed another Benefit porefessional, however they had a set which was for mothers day in this beautiful tin which for only little extra had a full size porefessional, a full size They're Real mascara and a mini perfume. I thought this was a great offer and the tin is so pretty I think you save like 45%, I have used the primer and mascara before and love them and the perfume smells really nice, its called laugh with me lee lee.

While at benefit I also got the Gimme Brow. Heard a lot about this and I tried it when I got home it was so easy to apply and really effective so fist impressions are very VERY good! I am wondering how long it will last as you only get 3g of product but it seems like its worth it.

After going to benefit I went across to Urban Decay and got their lipstick in Streak these feel so amazing and moisturising on the lips probably the most comfortable lipstick ive ever worn however I don't no what its staying power is like yet. I already own the lip pencil to this so I will be using these together. I thought the shade was lovely for spring as its a coral/pink shade its really  beautiful and I don't own a shade like it.

From Urban Decay I also purchased their new Naked Skin Ultra Definition loose Finishing Powder in the shade Naked Medium light. Again heard a lot about this, and I tested it when I got home it feel silky smooth on the skin cant wait to try this properly I will probably do a foundation routine for you or something to show you? The packaging I found was a little messy and it can be easy to spill so be careful, I did have a bit of an accident!

After I had finished at Debenhams I went too Boots and brought another Bourjois Effet 3D Lipgloss in 52. I love my pink one but this is a more coral colour very similar to the lipstick I brought and looks really nice over the top of it too.

Last but not least I brought the Lasting Perfection concealer from Collection in Fair, just to see what all the fuss is about! I really like the texture so will be trying this out over the next few days.

So that is what I got today, I will be letting you no how I get on with these and maybe will do some tutorials with them too, I hope you liked this post and thank you for reading!

Mid Week Must Have!

Hey everyone, are you all still full from all the pancakes you ate last night because I no I am! Had a really nice night making them last night :) so its my mid week must have again and I no im weeks behind on this product and everyone has reviewed it however I only got it a couple of weeks ago and its all ive been using so its my must have for the week :)

This week it is the Revlon Highlighting palette £8.99 and mine is in the shade rose glow. I chose this lighter one as it has more pinks in which suits my pale skin tone more than darker bronze colours. This palette contains 5 different shades of shimmer colours from pink, peach, champagne to bronze which when blended all together create one shade to give a sun kissed look. To be honest I was very cautious about purchasing this as I have so many highlighters I said to myself do I really need another one? However so many other bloggers have been saying good things about it so I thought why not. Im so happy I got it as this really is beautiful. I have been using this in my everyday makeup routine as it really brightens the skin. usually highlighters are only used in certain areas of the face however this product is like a blusher and highlight in one so it looks really nice on the apples of the cheeks too. You only need a small amount of this product as I think too much can look too glittery. You could also use the individual shades for eye shadow too I think it would look really nice now we are coming into spring. Overall its a really nice product I was not expecting it to been as nice as it is. I think this is perfect for the day time as it is not a dramatic highlight it just gives you a nice glow and is really nice when the sun catches it. Its perfect for school or if your just starting to use makeup, or even if you don't tent to wear much. Its easy to apply and it so pretty its a great product to keep in your handbag!

So that's it for today I didn't want to ramble on too much hope you liked it :)

4 Favourite Primers!

Hey guys, hope you are all ok, im having a mega busy day today as I started to organise my room this morning thinking it wouldn't take that long however it turned into a full day of throwing out a huge number of bin bags of rubbish and moving furniture etc so ive just set aside some time to catch up on TOWIE and write my blog :) today I wanted to tell you what my favourite primers are and why I love them.

First is the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion Probably one of the most popular eyeshadow primers on the market and im not surprised. Primers are used to increase the longevity of the eyeshadow so it wont budge all day or on a night out, and this definitely does that. This does have a slight neutral colour to it which will hide any redness or veins to give you a good canvas to start applying colour. This primer not only lets you get the longest wear from your eyeshadows it also will give you the best pigment out of them too. This is also great for using glitters and pigments too, its  really handy to have in your kit.

Second is the Revlon PhotoReady Perfecting Primer This is my usual everyday primer, even if I don't need my makeup to last all day I sill like to use a primer as I find my foundation goes on a lot better. This primer can be used on any skin type and tone and it makes your skin feel really smooth and soft. I don't think this is amazing at filling in pores, but Its a great everyday primer for creating a nice smooth finish and it does make my makeup last.

Third is the Benefit PoreFessional ( I only have the sample size at the minute) This is another very popular primer. I find it really fills in pores and makes my makeup look flawless, you only need a tiny amount so even though this is a little more expensive it will last you soo long. With this Your makeup will not budge all day.

Finally is the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer This is the primer I use in pro kit, it is oil free and I have used it on all skin types and it works really well. I also find that this takes away any unwanted shininess on the skin. You only need a tiny amount again and I love the feel of it on the skin, as your makeup glides on so smoothly. This is probably my favourite of them all. I love the range of primers smashbox have to offer from colour correcting to hydrating to spf primers there is something for everyone.

So they are my favourite primers I love them all, share your favourites below too!
