Mid Week Must Have! Revlon Cream Blush!

Hey everyone sorry I haven't done a mid week must have in a while but ive either been really busy or there hasn't been anything that I have been really loving enough to post about. But this week I have something I really really like so that's what im going to share today!

This week it is the Revlon cream blusher in the shade Pinched and its £7.99 you can buy this from either Boots and Superdrug. I have never tried a cream blusher before but I really wanted one as its sunnier and I have only been using cream products as they last longer on me and look more natural. There are three different shades of this product and I chose this one as I think it is an all round colour. I did try to swatch it for you but its not the best quality sorry!

So this is pink/peachy/coral shade I think its really nice as it is not really one specific colour and it suits any make up look with any colours you use. Its not totally matte either there is a little shimmer in it however you can barely see it on the skin it just gives a subtle sheen. The texture is really creamy and blends really easy with other product without disturbing them. I also think that it is quite pigmented too you only need a little bit and you can build it up to make it stronger. The staying power is also really good it lasts all day on me and I don't use any powder with it. You could however use this as a base to make your powder blusher stay longer too.

Overall I think its really nice and pretty and perfect for summer when you tend to wear less makeup, there is a colour for all skin tones and they are suitable for any skin type. I am also wearing this in my last post if you want to check that out too. thanks for visiting guys!

My Sunny Day Face!

Hey everyone, its Sunday again and again and its been quite sunny outside too :) I don't wear much makeup at the weekend or when its sunny so I thought I would do a combination of the two... my sunny day face! I like to keep it really natural and minimal and also quite glowy so I don't wear any powder.

Face:
No7 Sun Cream for sunspot prone skin spf30
MAC Studio Sculpt foundation
MAC Mineralize Concealer
Revlon Cream Blusher in Pinched
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector

I started by applying the sun cream, I always use a sun cream pacifically for the face as I think its better. This one in particular helps prevent sun spots which I get and also sits really well under makeup. I then applied the foundation all over the face, I concentrated on the centre of the face where I wanted more coverage then blended out. I like this foundation as it is really dewy and I find it doesn't move around when I don't use powder. Next I used a little concealer to cover my dark circles. I then applied the liquid highlighter to areas that catch the sun. First the top of the cheekbones round to the temple and under the brows. One spot on the centre of the nose, the centre of the forehead and the cupids bow. This highlighter is amazing and I am using it most days to add a beautiful glow to my skin. Using cream products also looks a lot more natural than using powders, however if you have oily skin you can set with a powder. I finished with applying the cream blusher to the apples of the cheeks and blended it back and up into the highlighter.

*I like to use my finger to apply creams and liquids over foundation as I think the warmth of the fingers blends it better and it doesn't move the foundation around

Eyes:
Maybelline Mega Plush Mascara
Benefit Bow Zings
Benefit Gimme Brow

I added a little shape to my brows with the brow powder and then set them with the Gimme brow. I just touched the mascara to my eyelashes top and bottom just to make my eyes look a little bit wider.

*Wanted a really minimal look and im really liking bare eyes at the moment, I think it looks really nice with a nice shaped brow :) plus with hay fever starting the less on my eyes the better!
Lips:

Bourjois 3D effet lip gloss in 52
I applied just the gloss all over the lip just to add a little sparkle, this one has a sheer orange tint to it which complements the blusher too!

So there it is, something really easy and natural I think it looks really pretty and its nice and comfortable to wear out in the sun too.

VICHY DERMABLEND Foundation! and swatches!

Hi everyone and welcome back, today I thought id do a little review on a new foundation I have been using, I saw a couple of other bloggers talking about it and I really wanted to try it. I have been using it for just over a week now and I no that its not a significant amount of time but I really link it, so here are my thoughts.

This is the Vichy Dermablend corrective foundation. This is a full coverage foundation and is called a corrective foundation at it known for its ability for concealing scars, redness, blemish scars, birth marks, even tattoos and more. The range also includes a concealer stick, a full body foundation and a setting powder. I was a little unsure about purchasing this as I didnt know if was right for me as I don't need to cover anything major but I do like full coverage when doing my makeup. So here is an example of what the foundation is like:

I purchased the shades Opal and Sand. The swatch here is the shade opal and underneath is what it looks like blended out. The shade range is not very extensive therefor I have been adding a tiny spot of sand to opal to get my shade. the consistency is quite thick and its best to start with a tiny amount first as you only need a small amount and then build up on areas which you would like more coverage. Even though this is a thick consistency its not cakey what so ever! its quite amazing. I don't have a preferred way of applying it yet but it blends really nice and easy into the skin. It does not feel heavy at all it looks just like skin when blended. The finish is a matte finish however its not too super matte, I have very dry skin and it wasn't drying at all I really liked the finish. It is a very full coverage foundation so if you do have something you want to cover you can do so without using loads of different products and making it stand out even more. Instead it so easy and simple. If you wish you could add a little moisturiser just to thin it out a little to. It also has an spf of 35, which you would normally avoid for nights out and having your picture taken however it is perfect for day time and also for holidays or being out in the sun. It also says it has 16hr wear, I have not tested it to see how long it lasts however I have worn it all day and been outside in it a lot and find it does not budge. This would easily last all day I didn't use any setting powder or anything and it was fine.

This foundation will work on any skin type, it is hypoallergenic and allergy tested and suitable for sensitive skin. I found it worked on my sensitive skin great. It is versatile as you could just use this as a concealer than just a foundation. If you like a fuller coverage I think you will really like this as the finish really is flawless and it looks like your actual skin. Overall I think its lovely and im really happy with it!

L'Oreal Colour Riche Nail Varnish

Hello, and welcome back yesterday I nipped into boots and picked up a few new things, I didnt want to write about them all until I had tried them, but these I have tested today so I wanted to tell you what I thought. I am really not a nail varnish person at all, I have never had nice nails as I used to bite them all the time, and I don't particularly like them or take care of them! They are actually quite long now and while I was shopping these caught my eye. I never buy nail varnish and hardly own any so I wanted some nice summery colours that I can wear all the time and these are the 3 which I thought were perfect...

They are the L'Oreal Colour Riche Nail Varnishes and they were £4.99 and there was a 3 for 2 offer on at the time which Is why I chose 3. First is the number 851 Nouvelle Vague it is a lovely cool pastel lilac/blue pastels are perfect for summer time and I also this that the look nice with any other colour as they are not really both. Seconded is 208 So Chic Pink This is a lovely warm coral colour its almost like a burnt orange shade. I thought that this was a really summery colour which will look really nice and stand out with a tan, I wanted a bold colour as I don't have one and I thought tis would also be quite versatile and go with my summery clothes. I also have a lipstick that matches too! Finally I picked 856 Peach Neglige this is an off white cream shade, I would also say it has an almost invisible pinky warm undertone (if that makes sense) I thought this would look quite different and also look really nice with tan. This shade is good for when you paint one nail a different colour from the rest, I was thinking you could do this with either of the other colours I chose and it would look cool. Its another shade which will go with anything too which is what I wanted as I want to get my use out of them.

So the first thing that got me interested was the packaging I like the gold top and the bottle is a nice size its not too bulky. I have applied the pastel blue/lilac shade today and it looks really nice. I like that the brush is more flat and wide so you can apply more product evenly with one swipe. I do find however that the bristles are maybe a bit thick as it does apply a little streaky and uneven. Most of my nails I managed to get a good even cover with two coats however there was a few which I needed 3 as it was streaky. They dried really fast and it feels quite sturdy on the nail, I have nocked them about a bit today and there is no signs of chipping yet.

Overall I think they are really nice, the colour range was one of the biggest I saw in boots so there will be colour for everyone. From someone who is not used to wearing or apply nail varnish all the time I found it easy to use and love how fast is dried so I could get on with my jobs. The colour pay off is really good and I will be wearing these 3 shades for the rest of the summer.

Todays plum!

Hey everyone and welcome back so ive been shopping today and got a few new bits and wanted to give them a try so I did another makeup look post for you. Im still pale as ever however I have given in and fake tanned tonight (sorry) its just been so sunny today and I could not resist. So why I was still pale as ever I did this more grungy look with a bold lip. This is one of my favourite lipstick ever and I thought it would look good paired with a bold smoky eye. I think this I great for nights out or you could tone it down for day time to. So this is how I did it:

Face:
Vichy Dermablend foundation
Collection lasting perfection concealer
Rimmel Natural Bronzer
The Balm Mary LouMainizer

I kept the face pretty minimal with an even layer of foundation. I have just brought this foundation today so I will be doing a review on it soon. Then I concealed my under eyes with a little concealer. I finished with a bit of bronzer on the cheeks and for head and then highlighted the tops of the cheeks. I didn't set with powder as I didn't want it to look too matte.

Eyes:
Benefit Brow Zings
Benefit Gimme Brow
Maybelline black gel eyeliner
Urban Decay Naked1 Palette shades: Toasted Hustle and Buck
Maybelline Falsies Mascara

I started with my eyebrows using the powder to shape them then the gimme brow to set. For the eyes I began by applying a little of the buck shade in the crease with a fluffy brush to define them slightly. I then applied the gel liner to the top lash line, I lined it in a thick strong line with a flick in the outer corner. I then applied Toasted to the inner corner and half way in along the bottom lash line. I then applied Hustle to the outer part. with a fluffy brush I blended for ages to get that smoky effect adding more product where I needed it. I finished with a coat of mascara top and bottom.

Lips:
MAC Nightmoth lip pencil
MAC Rebel lipstick
I applied the lip pencil all over the lips then applied the lipstick on top.

So there you go guys hope you like it, let me no what you think! Its really easy and simple but very effective and really stands out. This is one of my favourite lip combos its nice to be a bit more bold and stand out sometimes and this look would be beautiful and anyone!

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge!

Hi everyone and welcome back to my blog. Today I wanted to do a little review on the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. I brought it a couple of months ago and wanted to get some use out of it before I told you about it. I am a huge fan of the Real Techniques brand as im sure many of you are, the prices are really good and the quality of the brushes is amazing. When it comes to sponges I normally always use my Beauty Blender sponge however its looking a bit tatty so I thought I would give this one a try.

So firstly the one thing that drew me to this particular was other then the brand was the price, it was £5.99 which I thought was really good as you can use this over and over again as long as you wash it. I found with most of the other sponges were multi pack ones which I don't like as they are a funny shape and you can only get one good use out of them.

As you can see the sponge is also shaped in a way which makes it very versatile when it comes to applying foundation. The rounded edges are for large areas of the face creating an even and blended base. The pointy edge is for more precision such as concealing blemishes or any other areas needing more coverage or concealing. The flat edge area is easy to work with around the eyes and nose and also for highlighting and contouring.  This may seem a bit complicated however it is perfect for beginners as I find the sponge does most of the work for you, its hard to go wrong with really.

You can use this sponge wet or dry, and I find it works the best when sprayed with water so it is only slightly damp. And to get the best finish use in dabbing motions and press the product into the skin, this will create a flawless base! This sponge works with any cream or liquid product it applies them really nicely, I even use it to apply my finishing powder to set my makeup. Its really easy and comfy to work with. As I have sensitive skin I find sponges never irritate my skin like some brushes can as you are barely touching the skin.

Overall I think this a brilliant product which a lot of thought has gone into so you get the most out of it. The shape is very clever and packaging explains this really well. Its great to have in your makeup bag and gives you a beautiful flawless base.

Bright Eyes!

Hey guys, I have been away for a week which is why I have not posted, I had no internet or anything so had to wait until today to post for you. I have done another spring makeup look for you today, I thought I would use a bit of colour as I am so pale at the moment I look so washed out in pictures so I thought I would brighten it up a bit! Its really simple and perfect for a sunny day.

Im choosing to embrace my pale skin so used shimmery Green/blues on the eyes to complement my eye colour and brighten them. So the eyes stand out I chose a lovely nude pink lip just to add a bit of colour. Its colourful and pretty and here is how I did it...

Face:
Revlon PhotoReady Foundation
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
MAC Mineralize Concealer
Urban Decay Loose Finishing Powder
Rimmel Natural Bronzer
Revlon Highlighting Palette - Rose Glow

I applied the foundation all over the face with my beauty blender. I then concealed my under eyes with both the concealers. I used the collection one mainly in the inner corners to cover dark circles and brighten and the MAC one around the rest of the eye as its really moisturising and my eyes are playing up the recently. I let everything settle into the skin before lightly dusting over with finishing powder. I applied a little bronzer to the cheeks, down the nose and forehead just to warm it slightly. I then applied the Revlon blush over the cheeks.

Eyes:
Benefit BrowZings
Benefit Gimme Brow
Rimmel Natural Bronzer
Maybelline Gel liner
GOSH Eye Pencil - 007 Alligator
Urban Decay Vice Palette - Unhinged
Maybelline Mega Plush Mascara

I firstly filled in my brows with the brow powder and set with the gimme brow. then applied a little of the bronzer in the crease just to add a little structure to they eye. I then used the gel liner to create a neat line with a slight flick at the edge. I lined the water line and bottom lash line quite thick with the green eyeliner pencil. I used the green/blue shimmer eye shadow in the inner corner and used it to smudge out the bottom lash line. You can choose how much and how far down you want to blend out to what suits you. I finished with a coat of mascara top and bottom.

Lips:
Rimmel Lasting Finish By Kate Lipstick - 16

just to add I little colour I applied the lipstick all over the lips. its a lovely natural pink and perfect for day time.

So there you go guys let me know if you like it and what you would like to see next. I think this would suit anyone so get your bright colours out and give it a go :)

Mid Week Must Have!

Hey everyone and welcome back to my mid week must have. The product im going to share today has been out a few months now and I have read a lot of reviews from other blogs and im sure you may already own it. However I have only been using it more often the past couple of weeks so I wanted to share what I thought.

So this week it is the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. (I haven't linked this to a specific site as you can purchase this from most drugstores) This is a cleansing water which you are able to remove your makeup without rinsing afterwards. I have heard allot about these cleansing waters I know bioderma is very popular and also L'Oreal came out with one just before this too. I didn't really know if I needed it but after all the good things ive heard about it I thought why not.

After only a couple of weeks of using it my first impressions are really good! I like that it is hypoallergenic and hypoallergenic which makes it perfect for my sensitive skin. It removes makeup easily without having to scrub it away, as this can irritate skin and make it sore. It removes waterproof makeup easily too which I like. I find it really hydrating to skin and soothing too, Its not drying all. I don't usually use this to take my full face of every day however when I don't have time I use this and its so simple and quick. It doesn't smudge everything around it removes makeup quick and easy. This is also great to use on a cotton bud to clean up any mistakes when doing your makeup. Any smudges or fall out can quickly be fixed with this. Another way of using this is great to wipe over the face before applying makeup to someone else just to make sure the skin is clean first. You really don't have to rinse after using this either many times I have used then then applied moisturiser straight after, it leaves a really nice clean smooth base.

Over all a brilliant product to have on hand, its suitable for any skin type and its really king and gentle to the skin especially the eye area to. I think the 400ml you get is also a great amount and you can get up to 200 uses.
