Halloween Tips!

Hey guys, im having a bit of trouble with lighting for my makeup looks as I usually use natural daylight however at the moment.. we have none! Ill try and do a Halloween look on Friday but I thought id give a few tips on costumes and makeup etc:

- If your a last minute person like me don't stress if you haven't got a costumes. Concentrate more on makeup and hair and you will still look the part.

-If you are on a budget, customise old clothes you already have and just buy accessories instead to spook up what you already have.

- if you are not confident doing a full face of costume makeup just stick with a really dull smokey eye and dark lips. Using deep purples, blacks and other dark shades for your smokey eye will give you that grungy vampy look that's great for Halloween. Smoke and blend out the eyes more than you usually would to get that extra effect for Halloween.

- Try outrageous lip colours. Its easy and effective to try if you don't want to go for the full scary makeup. Deep plums, blacks, greens will make a Halloween statement without being too in your face.

- Create scruffy scary hair by simple creating loose beachy waves and backcombing it as scruffy as you like.

- If you want to try the full face look but don't want to spend a lot of money. check out your local super markets they always have cheaper face paints and things to mess around with. There is no point in buying the best face paints just for one night.

- Use big in your face lashes, body jewels and glitter to enhance your character. When else would you be able to get away with wearing these!

- Use wash out hair spray paints, I love these as you can make your hair really stand out and it washes out the next day.

- If your not getting dressed up this Halloween but you are still going out and want to look the part. Little black dresses you cant fail with. Leather skirts, sequins, anything which is a little more grungy looking or more darker shades you wont look out of place.

- Instagram is a great place for inspiration for makeup looks for Halloween. there are some really talented people with really creative ideas.

- Try and be different when thinking of your character. Its rubbish turning up and 5 people wearing the same costume as you. Think of a character no one else would, you will stand out more too!

- Try and be extravagant as you can, on Halloween I think that more is more. Its the only time with the excuse to look as silly as possible.

Flawless Legs For Party Season!

I think its safe to say that its very close, OR already is the start of the party season. The shops are full with sparkly party dresses but have you got the nice flawless tanned legs to wear them. Fake tan is a necessary for me this time of year, you would not get me in a party outfit without it. However if prepping the week before with fake tan seems a lot of effort just for one night, this is the perfect way to get those flawless pins right before you get dressed to go out.

This is the Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs Tan Glow and I got it from Boots for £9.99. This is NOT actually a fake tan, it is in fact a leg makeup! I was so sceptical about using this I thought for the price it is there is no way this works, however with the likes of Kim K having used this I thought I must try!! So to use this product you simply shake the can well to start. You then spray this onto your hand and then simply rub in evenly all over your legs. When you spay this onto your hand it does come out like a foundation and it can seem a bit scary however when you start to apply this to your legs they will honestly transform before your eyes! (I would put a towel down so you don't make a mess). Its so easy to blend over the skin evenly with no streaks or lines, but don't forget to was your hands after. You then have to wait 60 seconds and then you are ready to go!! Its that easy.

It completely evens out skin texture and gives you a lovely glow to the skin too. Its not only perfect for nights out but for those who have visible veins, freckles or any other imperfections you wish to disguise. This really does make you legs look completely flawless as if the are airbrushed. This product is water resistant, and will not transfer onto your clothes. Simply was it off with soap and water the next day. No fake tan will ever make my legs look as nice as this does, and its just so effortless anyone can use this with confidence and get great results.

So if you want flawless party legs this season with next to no effort this is perfect.

Halloween Lips!

Today I got a little bored and wanted to do some kind of Halloween post so I did my lips in four different ways for Halloween for you, they are all so easy to do, so hope you like!

First I filled in the lips with a white pencil, I used NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk. I then drew the face on with a black gel liner and I used the Bobbi Brown gel liner.

I first lined the lips with MAC Nightmoth Lip Pencil then applied MAC Rebel lipstick all over. I used Bobbi Brown Gel Liner to draw the bats on the bottom lip and to darken the cupids bow on top.

For my pumpkin I first used Bobbi Brown Gel Liner to line the lips, and then filled in the corners to give the round shape of the pumpkin. I filled in the pumpkin firstly using the Too Faced Glitter Glue and applying BarryM Dazzle Dust in 44 all over it. I then patted MAC Coppering over the top. I then used the gel liner again to draw the face and the little stem on top.

For my glitter lips I used GOSH eyeliner in 021 all over the lips. I than applied Too Faced Glitter Glue all over and then applied MAC 3D Gold Glitter. (not sure if this is discontinued)

So there are a few ideas for Halloween, let me no which you like the best!

A Little Shopping Trip!

I went on a little shopping trip on Friday in Liverpool for the day, its such a lovely place to go shopping its now my favourite place to go for a good shopping trip. I always find when I go shopping I hardly ever buy clothes, all my money always goes on beauty, but I did get a couple of bits.

I got some coated jeans which look like leather from Topshop and they were £40.00, I was desperate for a new pair of jeans and I thought these would be a bit different. They look good dressed up with a nice shirt and heels or casual with a nice fluffy jumper. From Zara I got this oversized baggy jumper I think it was £25.99 or something. It looks really nice with these jeans and its perfect for winter too.

Beauty wise I got two nail varnishes from Urban Outfitters, they were £6.00 each or 2 for £10.00. The first shade I got was Rasberry Beret, its a really nice dark plum/wine shade, I love the colour ive been looking for a shade like this as its perfect for winter as its a dark colour however its quite warm too. The next one I got was Northern Lights. This is such a Christmas party shade its blue, gold and purple sparkles and glitter all in one little pot. From Urban Outfitters I also got a pack of invisible bobbles for £4.00 for three in a pack. Everyone I no has one of these and I wanted to try them, they are more comfy than a bobble I do admit however I have long thick hair and I do have to keep tightening it.

From MAC I got three new brushes for my kit, firstly the 217, every1 has this brush its just really good for shading and bending eye shadows. Next I got 168, I thought this would be good for blusher and contouring especially as its quite small and angled too. The last one was the 212 its just a straight brush I wanted this to help me get nice neat lines for the under eyes and also for any straight lines I need to make, it will be quite handy for my kit.

I did also go to Lush of course and get a Cupcake face mask which is in my fridge but they were raising money for charity too, so if you added £1.00 extra to your bill its went to charity and you got a little sample too. So I did that and got a little sample of hand an body lotion, and this little pot it came in to so cute!!

Finally from Illamasqua I got the Skin Base Lift concealer £17.50. I love the skin base foundation and use it in my kit too so I really wanted to give this a go. I will do a post on this after I have used it for a while.

So that is my little haul post. Please share your lasts shopping trips and your favourite places to go!

5 Things That Will Never Leave My Makeup Bag!

Lush Cupcake Face Mask - Nothing else makes my face feel as fresh as this face mask does. Its all natural ingredients and as its kept in the fridge its very refreshing. It un-clogs my pores and removes any excess oil on the skin. I use it almost every day and my skin feels so clean and healthy... and smell like chocolate.

Collection lasting perfection concealer - Such an in expensive product, yet its such good quality. It conceals my under eyes really nice its not too heavy and never settles in any lines. It has amazing staying power and such a flawless finish.

Maybelline baby lips lip balm - The most amazing lip balm ever! This colour is my favourite as its translucent but it tastes so nice. I use this all the time and my lips are now never sore or chapped. I could never get through the winter with out this. Again its pretty inexpensive but such good quality and I have one in every one of my coats.

Clinique eye contour balm - An every day must have for me, I use this every day and night and if I don't use it I can definitely tell. Its so moisturising and if you suffer with sore eyes like me then this is perfect for you. Again I could never make it through a winter without this, it really sooths my eyes and hydrates the them. I really cant compliment this enough.

Anastasia Beverly hills brow wiz pencil - The perfect  brow pencil weather you want perfectly sculpted brows or just need to even them out. Its so effortless to use and easy if your in a rush. love the texture and feel of the pencil I wont use anything else for them.

what are yours?                                       Zoe x

Bronze smokey eye!

Winter is now getting closer and it will soon be party season, a bronze smokey eye is perfect for this time of year, its festive and sparkly and looks good on anyone so here is my little version hope you like it.

( Just in case you wondered the top pic I took with the flash on and the bottom to the flash was off)

VICHY Dermablend Foundation
Collection lasting Perfection Concealer
Urban Decay Ultra Definition Loose Finishing Powder
Benefit Hoola Bronzer
GOSH Giant Sun Powder

I first applied the foundation with my beauty blender, you only need a tiny amount as its very full coverage. I then applied the concealer to the under eyes and anywhere the was a little more redness. I set with powder and applied the bronzer into the hollows of the cheeks around the forehead and chin. I finished by using the giant sun powder as a blusher to the cheeks.

ABH Brow wiz
ABH Tinted Brow Gel
Urban Decay Naked 1 Palette shades SIN and SMOG
Maybelline Gel Liner
Urban decay Demolition Eye Pencil
Benefit Hoola Bronzer
Maybelline The Falsies Mascara

I started with the eyebrows as usual. I then applied smog eye shadow all over the eyelid and into the crease and used a little bronzer to blend it out. I blended more upwards than outwards. I then used the gel liner and lined with a thin line the top of the eye into the tear duct. I used the eye pencil to tight line the top lash line and the bottom waterline so it met with the gel liner at each end. I used the bronzer to smudge the eyeliner along the bottom lash line then used smog eye shadow over it to finish. I used sin to highlight the brow bone and applied mascara to top and bottom lashes.

Bare minerals lip pencil in Thrilled
L'Oreal l'exstraordinaire liquid lipstick in Nude Ballet

I applied the lip pencil all over then the liquid lipstick on top.

Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster!

I have seen so many people talking about this product so I have been using it for about a week now and here are me views and first thoughts.

This is the Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster I purchaced this from boots for £18.00. At the moment im not using an actual fake tan however I have been using a tinted body lotion which gives a slight tan when used on a regular basis. I don't use it on the face as it doesn't tend to go well with my skin, I also don't usually use tan on my face just in case it turns out wrong and you cant hide it! I saw quite a few reviews on this product so I thought I would try it and I really really like it.

It is a concentrated solution which you mix with a moisturiser and apply to your face and neck to create a natural tan. You only have to apply 1-3 drops in with your moisturiser over a few days to achieve the look you want and then maintaining by using when you feel you need to top up. This product is so clever and even though you may think the bottle is quite small it will last you for so long as 3 drops it the maximum you will need to use to cover the face and neck. When you put in on your hand to mix with the moisturiser its a kind of facial oil consistency however it soaks in straight away with no stickiness. You can use any moisturiser with this and I usually use it at night. The colour it gives you is a beautiful golden glow its so natural like you have caught the sun. It has not irritated my skin in anyway and it really is a fool proof product.

If you want to keep that beautiful summer glow this is  perfect product, I have had so many comments just with a week of using this about how healthy my skin looks and that it looks like ive caught the sun. I have such pale skin naturally and this makes me feel more healthy. it really is beautiful and a natural looking self tanner, everything you want in a tanning product for the face.
