January Favourites!

I have never done a favourites post before but I love reading everyone else's. As its the start of a new year I thought it was an appropriate time to start doing them, so here are my January Favourites...

1. The first is the Jack Wills body sprays, I had three in a set for Christmas and they all smell lovely, I wear them alternatively depending which I happen to pick up and the scent really lasts too but its not overpowering.

2. Next is MAC Studio Sculpt foundation. I have had this for ages and ages now however I never liked it when I got it. I have been wearing it the last couple of months especially the last few weeks constantly and have really fallen for it. Its great for dry skin, Stays in place all day and keeps my skin hydrated and its really good coverage.

3. Third is this powder brush from Bare Minerals but not sure what its actually called (I stole it from my mum) I love the way it applies powder products and I use it for setting, contouring, applying blusher and bronzer. Its so versatile and small enough to carry around in my bag.

4. MAC eyeliner in Teddy is an everyday eyeliner for me now. When I just want something subtle a brown liner is perfect and I can blend it really easy too.

5. Benefit Bright Eyes pencil has been in my bag for ages and have rediscovered it over the past month. It does make you look more awake and your eyes more open and brighter, perfect for winder time.

6. Next are these thin bobbles I got from boots. I know bobbles are not that interesting but I really like these for putting my hair up. I used to use thicker ones but they always end up breaking. These seem really strong are a lot more comfy in my hair too.

7. The lipstick I have been wearing all month is MAC Velvet Teddy. Its the perfect matte nude that everyone needs in their bag.

8. My favourite candle is the Yankee Candle in Salted Caramel, I could smell this all day long its so warming and sweet and just like caramel, perfect for someone with a huge sweet tooth.

9. Last is this nail varnish in Raspberry Beret I got from Urban Outfitters. I've had this for ages and its perfect for winter time. It is really good quality and lasts really well, I've been wearing it all the time.

So there is my first ever favourites post, please share yours below too!!

Drugstore Shopping!

Hey everyone todays post was meant to be a new makeup look however I went to have my hair done with my mum in town and we went shopping after and got a little carried away! So I thought I would show you a few things I picked up from Boots and Superdrug. I did get a few other things to however I thought I would make this more of a drugstore haul as I got most of my bits from there.

First off I picked up a cop of this months Elle magazine. I saw from Instagram that is had a sample of the latest Benefit mascara which is called Roller Lash so I had to give it a try of course.

I brought a new Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer only because normally when I am desperate for one they are always sold out. I also picked up a new Rimmel Clear Complexion Powder, its a translucent setting powder and its one of my favourites I have used for years. I don't really need a lot of setting as I have pretty dry skin so this really works for me.

There was an offer on L'Oreal too it was any 2 for £14.00 and I needed to pick up a L'Oreal True Match foundation. Again one of my all time favourite foundations of life! As there was an offer on I thought I would try out a blusher as the shade really caught my eye, its called Sandalwood Pink and its a nice rose pink shade which I don't actually have so cant wait to try that.

From Superdrug I picked up a new Maybelline Baby Lips, as you cant have too many I go though loads of these I love them. I also picked up a Tanya Burr Lip gloss in Afternoon Tea. I have been wanting to try these for ages but my local store never had them in so was really happy when I saw them today. I chose this shade as its a nice nude/pink which I love. I have in on right now actually and its really nice and comfy to wear, it also smells amazing!

The very last thing I got when I was at the till was a cheeky Caramel Egg! These are my favourite things ever and I never usually see them so I couldn't resist getting one... Ive already eaten it too!

Todays Face!

Happy Sunday everyone and welcome back to my blog, today I thought I would share my todays face. I haven't been able to do a makeup post in a while as I had an allergic reaction to some new eye shadows and its taken ages for my eyes to get better. They are fine now though so here is my makeup today.

Face:
MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
Urban Decay Ultra Definition Loose Finishing Powder
Illamasqua Multi Facet Palette in Aura
Benefit Hoola Bronzer

Really simple for the face I used the foundation all over then concealed under the eyes and set it all with the loose powder. I used the bronzer all over then used the blusher and highlighter out of the palette to finish.

Illamasqua Multi Facet Palette in Aura
Benefit Bright Eyes Pencil
L'Oreal Gel Liner
Maybelline The Falsies Mascara

I did my brows with the powder out of the palette. I then used the dark brown eye shadow all over the eyelid and into the crease. I blended it out using the flesh toned shadow and highlighted the brow bone with the shimmery one. I drew a long wing with the gel liner and ended it in a point in the tear duct. I applied a small amount of the dark brown eye shadow along the lower lash line and used the eye pencil in the waterline. I finished with lots of mascara top and bottom.

Lips:
Bare Minerals Lip Pencil in Thrilled
MAC Lipstick in Velvet Teddy

I used the lip pencil around the outside then lipstick over the top.

So that is my todays face, hope you like it

Four Most Used Brow Products!

To be honest I am not a fussy person about my brows. I do look after them and shape them but I am not overly neat with it. I do love the look of these super sculpted out brows however for me personally I like mine to look pretty natural for every day. I do like them to be more defined for a night out or special occasion however for my everyday makeup I keep them pretty simple. I like to use products which I can create both of these looks with and also be able to do them quick and easy as we don't always have hours to do our makeup...more like 10 minutes.  So these are my four most used brow products which I love, they are so versatile and I have used them all for a very long time now.

Benefit Brow Zings - This is one of the first brow products I ever brought, it comes with a wax you apply first to the brows and then a powder on the top. I like that the powder is really natural and you can create a good shape with it. It does last on me all day and its so perfect for your makeup bag as its small and has everything in you need. It even comes with some tweezers and brushes to apply the wax and powder. I think this would be god for someone who is just starting out using brow product as its easy to control and you can apply as much or as little as you want.

Benefit Gimme Brow - I find this the most easy way to do my brows. All you have to do is brush this through the brows it sets them all in place and it also contains small fibres which creates the look of fuller and thicker brows. The brush is really small which makes it really precise and easy to control. This is also great for someone who does not have a particular shape or sparse brows. You can brush back and fourth though the hairs so the fibres latch on to the smallest hairs to create the look of thicker hairs. It keeps the brows in place all day so they don't move but they still look really natural and don't feel or look sticky at all.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz - This is one the best brow pencils I have ever used! It is a twist up pencil which has a spoolie on the end to so you can blend as you apply the product. The pencil is really fine so you can fill in your brows to make them look really natural. You can also create those super sculpted and defined brows with this too. You can draw in fine hairs to really fill them in and its really easy to blend out. Its a very easy pencil to use and its really soft so you don't have to be heavy handed. I never felt confident using pencils when I first started doing makeup but this pencil has made doing brows really easy.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Tinted Brow Gel - This is a great brow gel, I chose the tinted one so I could use it on its own and still make them look a bit more filled in and also with the powder or the pencil just to set. It sets the hairs really well and they wont budge all day. I like that they don't look like they have a brow gel on them and they don't feel clumpy either.

So they are my four most used products which I find makes doing brows easy. What are your favourites?

My Everyday Moisturiser!

When it comes to skin care I think I have tried and tested all sorts of pots and potions, although I like to try all different brands and I will continue to, my usual everyday moisturisers are these by L'Oreal from their Skin Perfection range . Before I tell you how they have benefited me, ill just tell you my skin type is very very dry! I do suffer with eczema and all other things that come along with having dry skin. Its also so very sensitive, I can react very quickly to something that doesn't agree with me so I am constantly on the hunt for products that are kind to my skin, and keep it hydrated all day.

So I purchased these when they were first brought out, so I think I have been using them now for nearly 12 months maybe more? In the morning after I have washed my face these are ready on my desk, and I first apply the Advanced Correcting Serum which is said to refine skin texture, tightens pores and even and brighten the skin tone. Next I apply the Correcting Day Moisturiser. This also is said to, even the skin tone, hydrate, make the skin feel soft and that pores look virtually undetectable.

I have applied these two together day and night  to the face and neck since I first ever brought them and I can say I have definitely noticed a difference in my skin. They keep my skin really hydrated all day and night. My skin feels really soft and smooth and it looks in much better condition. I have a natural healthy glow to my skin and it doesn't look aggravated. My pores are smaller however I never had trouble with them to start with. It has evened out the texture of my skin, I no longer get them little bumpy blemishes under the skin like I used to, and they do creep back without regular use of these products. My makeup applies and sits very well over the top and lasts all day too. The only thing I have not noticed much difference in is I have a lot of red pigmentation and sun spots over my skin and this is still the same... but Im not expecting miracles.

Overall I could not live without these two products, I have finally found something that really suits my skin and its needs. I have noticed a massive difference since using these and I can also tell if I haven't been using them. I think they are a great price and boots are always doing offers on them too. Remember when it comes to skin care you have to try it for a longer period of time notice any benefits which I have with these products. If you have any recommendations for me to try please feel free to share them too!

My Favourite Nudes!

The last few days I have had to start organising my makeup and other things as we are decorating and moving a lot of stuff around. I have been trying to organise things into categories and this morning I has doing lipstick so I thought I would share the nudes in my collection. Nudes are always so popular and an essential for a makeup collection. They can be matched with any makeup look and suit any occasion, so these are the ones I wear most regular.

Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Pencil in Thrilled -  I love this lip pencil as it goes with all my nude lipsticks, I also wear this also on its own. Its really creamy and not drying at all, its long lasting too. I do find it hard sometimes as its a twist up one so you cant sharpen it but overall I really like it and its the only nude pencil I use at the moment.

Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter in Crème Brulee - This one is the palest nude I have. I love these lip butters as they are really hydrating, these are more of a sheer lipstick so these are nice for day time, then you can use a lip pencil under it to make it more pigmented. These have a glossy finish to them and they are really comfortable to wear. I also like to wear this over the top of my more darker nudes in the centre of the lips to add definition.

MAC Velvet Teddy - Quite a popular nude, and one of my more darkest ones. This is probably as dark as I could go with my skin tone. Its matte so you can really create a defined nude lip. I wear this mainly for nights out, and I don't find it to be too drying for a matte lipstick either. It lasts really well and it doesn't move around.

MAC Fleur D'Coral - This is my go to peachy nude. I love this for day time as its a lustre lipstick so it has more of a sheen to it and its more sheer. This looks really nice over the top of other nude or pink lipsticks too.

Urban Decay Lipstick in Liar - I love the formulation of these lipsticks they are so moisturising you feel like your not wearing any. It is really pigmented and stays on well. This isn't matte however I just use translucent powder over it to make it matte. Its a more darker nude also and I like that I can wear it with different finishes to it for day and night. This is the most comfortable out of all of the to wear.

L'Oreal Liquid Lipstick in Nude Ballet - This is like a very highly pigmented lip gloss, and I like to wear this either on its own or over the top of the other nudes. I choose this if I want something a little more glossy if I am going on a night out or for day time if I am not wearing much makeup. It doesn't have the best staying power but as it a liquid lipstick the pigmentation is great and its not sticky and uncomfortable.

So there are my favourite nudes that I like to wear, please share yours below too.

Simple Pretty Makeup!

Today I did a really easy day makeup look, I think this would look nice if you have a day occasion to go to or if your just going on a nice day out and want to make a bit more effort.
Face:
MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
Urban Decay Ultra Definition Loose Finishing Powder
Benefit Hoola Bronzer
Illamasqua Multi Facet Palette in Aura
GOSH Giant Sun Powder

I started off by applying foundation with a buffing brush, for a day time look I would advise to start off in the centre of the face and blending outward, this makes it more natural. I then concealed my under eyes with the concealer and set it with the loose powder. I used my bronzer just to add warmth then used the blusher out of my palette on the cheeks and applied highlighter to the tops of the cheeks.

Eyes:
Illamasqua Multi Facet Palette in Aura
Tropic Brown Eyed Girl Palette
ABH Tinted Brow Gel
Maybelline The Falsies Mascara
Ardell Demi Wispies Lashes
Shimmering Eye and Lip Crayon from Barry M

I used the brow powder out of the illamasqua palette for fill in the brows and set them with the brow gel. As its a day time look I did them quite natural looking. I then used the shimmer gold shade out of the tropic palette all over the eyelid and under the eyes and blended it out. I used the Barry M pencil in the water line to brighten the eyes. I then applied mascara top and bottom and applied my false lashes. I decided to do no eyeliner as its a day look I thinks it looks more softer this way.

Lips:
MAC Velvet Teddy Lipstick
Revlon Lip Butter in Crème Brulee

I used velvet teddy all over the lips and then crème brulee over the top. this made it a little more glossy and more comfortable to wear for all day than just a matte lipstick.

I hope you like this makeup look.

Todays Makeup!

Hey everyone yesterday I wrote a post about some Illamasqua products I purchased in the sale. I tried them out today and I really love them. I created this makeup look using mostly these products apart from a few extras so here is how I created it...

Face:
MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
Urban Decay Ultra Definition Loose Finishing Powder
Benefit Hoola Bronzer
Illamasqua Multi Facet Palette in Aura

I applied the foundation all over my face with a buffing brush and then concealed my under eyes and eyelids with the concealer. I set the under eyes only with loose powder as this foundation is pretty matte on me. I used my hoola bronzer to contour slightly and used the blusher out of the palette on the cheeks. For highlight I used the shimmer eye shadow from the palette.

Eyes:
Illamasqua Multi Facet Palette in Aura
Benefit Gimme Brow
Maybelline The Falsies Mascara
Amy Childs False Lashes in Flirt

I started by using the brow shade in the palette to shape my brows then I set them with the gimme brow. For the eyes I started by using the light peachy shade applying it into the crease with a fluffy brush. I next used the dark brown over the top and blended it out. For eyeliner I used the black eye shadow in the palette creating a long wing and smudging it out. I went back with the brown again and made it a little darker. For the under eyes I mixed the black and brown together applying this along the lower lash line. I applied my mascara and lashes then to finish using the shimmery shade highlighted the brow bone and inner corners of the eyes.

Lips:
Illamasqua Lipstick in Resist
Illamasqua Lip Pencil in Temptress

I used the lipstick all over the lips then went around the edged with the pencil to neaten them.

I hope you like this makeup look!

Mini Illamasqua Sale Haul!

Hey everyone for the past week or so I have been hunting in the sales for various bits and pieces however ive been quite disappointed in them really. Illamasqua on the other hand never let us down with their sales and this time they have some really great products for great prices!

As a makeup artist I am always buying new products however I never buy them for myself. Any makeup I do buy I just automatically put it in my kit, so with my Christmas money I thought I would treat myself to a few new bits! So here is what I chose.

Multi Facet Palette in Aura - This has to be my favourite. Its a palette which has everything I need. The two large shades on the left is a blusher and cream highlighter.  Top two smaller shades are a cream contour and brow shade. Then the bottom four are eye shadows. They are all neutral shades that I love mostly matte with one shimmer. You could create so many different looks with this and I love that they are all in the same place. Its a perfect palette to travel with and I cant wait to try it out.

colouring lip pencil in Temptress - This is a really nice bold pink shade, its not too bright its more rose pink than a bright pink. I chose it as its a shade suitable to all year its not too bright for winter but bold enough for summer time. You would be able to brighten or darken the lips with this depending what lipstick you would wear with this. There are lots of different ways you could wear it which I like.

lipstick in Resist - This is a nice rose toned lipstick. Its a shade which suits any skin tone and is nice for any occasion. It goes nicely with any makeup look and its a matte too which I like as you can always put a gloss over if you like.

Back To School/Work Makeup!

Hey guys hope you have all had an amazing Christmas and New year. I'm so sad its all over! Its back to normal routine either school or work for most people on Monday so I thought I would share my everyday makeup I am wearing at the moment. Its perfect for every day weather your going to work or school as its really simple and will look really natural on anyone. I haven't got a picture of me wearing it as I am having a no makeup day today as my skin is being really annoying! I have done other post on everyday makeup so there may be some products which have stayed the same as i love them but some have also changed.

MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation - I never really liked this foundation when I first got it however it is one of my favourite foundations in my collection. Its buildable coverage which doesn't look or feel heavy on the skin. I like that it keeps my dry skin hydrated and it doesn't move all day giving you a nice glow too.

Illamasqua Skin Base Lift - I love this concealer at the moment, again its really hydrating and comfortable on the skin and doesn't settle in any lines. The coverage is really good and it gives a really flawless finish. I have been using this under the eyes, it hides the darkness and brightens the area perfect when I am having a hard day.

Urban Decay Ultra Definition Loose Finishing Powder - I use this in all my makeup posts and its one of my favourite powders for setting makeup. Its perfect for everyday as it has a really natural finish, it sets makeup so it looks flawless and its not totally matte so you can still have that natural glow to the skin. My makeup does not budge if I set it with this and I like that it has a little bit of colour to it so give a tiny bit of extra coverage.

Benefit Gimme Brow - When I am in a rush I never have time to do my brows however I could never just leave them. This product makes it so quick and easy to fill in your brows. The wand is small and precise so you can fill in your brows and catch all the little hairs. It sets them in place all day and fills them in making them look thicker and fuller with minimum effort.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer - This is a perfect bronzer shade for everyone its matte and looks really natural weather you want to contour or just add warmth to the face. I use this everyday to warm the makeup up a bit and on the cheeks instead of blusher.

Revlon Highlight Palette - I use this as a sheer blusher over the cheeks and a highlight at the same time. I like my every day makeup to look as natural as possible and this gives a really nice glow to the skin. Plus I don't really have time to be using loads of products and this is perfect as in two in one!

MAC Teddy Eye Pencil - This is a really nice brown eye pencil. I use this instead of a black as its more softer and I use a pencil as Its more comfortable on my eyes when I have it on all day. I use this to line the outer corner of the eye and create a small wing at the edge. I find it quicker to use than a gel and it lasts really well. I don't find it wears off at all during the day.

Maybelline The Falsies Mascara - My favourite mascara of all time! I love that I only have to apply one coat and it really makes a difference to my lashes. If I apply any more coats by the end of the day my eyes are a bit uncomfortable and irritated, however the wand on this separates the lashes and makes them look really pretty without applying much.

So that is my everyday makeup at the moment, I have been wearing this every day over Christmas and new year. The products are all really easy to use they make doing your makeup a lot quicker but with really nice results. As there are not too many products you can easily fit these all into your makeup bag and keep them in your handbag all day if you need to touch up.
