Parachute: White Linen Launch!

The main part of any, and especially my beauty routine is a good night sleep. You want to start each day feeling fresh and awake, and I think it really tells in your skin and especially your eyes when you have had a good rest and re-booted for the next day. Sleep is so important to us, which is why I am happy today that I am able to share with you this beautiful new launch from Parachute. Parachute is company which offers beautiful bedding designed in LA and made in Italy.

Today is the day of their White Linen Launch, where they have two new shades of lovely linen bedding. Firstly there is the White Linen, which is inspired by their Venice Beach surroundings. Seccondly to complement the white there is Fog, a beautiful light grey tone. I think both are so perfect for summer time as they make the room feel so much brighter and fresh, and also cooler too.

The fabric is also perfect for this time of year, its light and breathable which is what you need to get a nice comfortable sleep on the hot nights.

I feel this collection has the ability to fit in well with any bedroom decor and as it is so beautifully simple and classic it gives a lovely sense of calm and relaxation to a room. It has a really elegant feel to it, and it is something which will never go out of style. Its very versatile too as you could also layer it with the existing collection.

This collection will range from $50-$249 and I really like that you can shop this collection in the separates section, which means you can choose the pieces you want without the extra pieces you don't.

I love companies which give back and, in an effort to give back, Parachute has partnered with Nothing But Nets.
an organization that shares their interest in providing safe sleep to those in
need. For every Venice set sold (which will be available in White Linen),

Parachute has committed to sending one life-saving bed net.

Cool Toned Smokey Eye!

Hi everyone, hope you have all had a great weekend, today I am sharing this cool toned smokey eye. I don't tend to ware cool tones very often so I thought it was time to do something a little different. This is my favourite type of smokey eye as you don't have to worry about being neat at all.

Face:

I started by applying the foundation all over the face with a Beauty Blender sponge and concealed my under eyes with the naked concealer. As this concealer is a little light for me right now I used a little bit of the Maybelline concealer to help blend it in. I set the under eyes only with the loose powder then contoured with the Urban Decay Concealer Pencil. I blended the contour with the Benefit Hoola Bronzer and warmed up the face with the Rimmel natural bronzer. To finish I applied my blusher and highlighter.

Eyes:

I started by using the NYX pencil as a base then filled in my brows with the brow wiz pencil. I started off using Bliss eyeshadow out of the palette with a fluffy brush into the crease. I used Night Sky all over the lid not going too far into the crease. I then used Ebony into the crease and outer corners to darken them. For the under eyes I used Night Sky and Ebony together and blended out further than I usually would. With the same fluffy brush as before I made sure all the shadows blended around the eye making the eyes look more rounded. I lined the water line with the pencil eye liner and the top lash line with the liquid liner. To finish I applied lots of mascara to the tops and bottom lashes then applied my false eyelashes from Eylure.

Lips:

I contoured the lips a little with the pencil then applied the lipstick all over.

So that is my cool toned smokey eye, I hope you like it and let me know what you think!

My Everyday Summer Makeup Routine!

It has been really sunny here in the UK over the last couple of weeks and on hot days I don't really like to wear much makeup. I have been using this routine on really hot days as I find it to be really comfortable and long lasting. I am not into much coverage, I just like my skin to look a little more even and brighter and this makeup just makes me look a lot better then if I wasn't wearing anything at all. Its very simple and glowy and super quick too.

First off I take the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue, on a Real Techniques Buffing Brush and buff it in all over the face. I will be doing a review on this in week or so. You want to use this method to really work it into the skin as it lasts a lot longer and looks more natural. Next I use the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer under the eyes and anywhere else that needs some extra cover. This is a perfect concealer for hot days as it is really long lasting but light weight at the same time. I only like to use a little bit of powder just in the T-zone as I have very dry skin. For this I use the Rimmel Clear Complexion Translucent Powder

For bronzer I love to use the Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel. This is the most beautiful cream bronzer and looks so natural, just like you have spent a day by the pool. For Blusher I use a little bit of the Revlon Cream Blusher in Pinched, just to add a little pop of colour. I use the same Real Techniques Buffing Brush to apply the cream products too as its quicker and it blends the products together nicely. I finish the face with a little bit of MAC Mineralize skinfinish in Soft and Gentle.

For the eyes I don't wear much at all as they become very sensitive in the sun. I will go through my brows with the Benefit Gimme Brow, then apply only a tiny amount of Maybelline The Falsies mascara just to the tips of the lashes. Then to finish I mix and match with any lip gloss I happen to pick up.

So that is my summer day makeup routine, for me this lasts all day and I don't have to worry about maintaining it or touching up either. I hope you like it it and please share yours too!

Four Summer Blushers!

If there is one thing at the moment I like to collect, it is definitely cheek products. I have so many bronzers and blushers and I find I always stick to the same groups for different times of the year. Through this summer I find I am always reaching for these four, I like to mix between the different finishes and the shades are perfect for this time of year.

First is the Revlon Highlight Palette in Rose Glow, I love this for summer time as it is a blusher/highlight which gives you a wash of colour with a beautiful shimmery glow. It is a perfect two in one product and all the different shades look so lovely all mixed together.

Next is the Clarins Blush Prodige Illuminating Cheek Colour in Soft pink. I have the tester size here. This is also a blusher/highlighter there is a matte segment and an illuminator segment, they look lovely mixed together but you could also use them separately which I like. Its another typical shade for summer time which I do find to be a little more sheer which I prefer with illuminating blushers. I really like this one as it is not a very shimmery highlighter, it gives more of a subtle natural glow to the skin rather than a very glittery shimmery highlighted effect.

Third is the Illamasqua powder blusher in Lover. This is a matte blusher in a beautiful soft apricot shade. This looks so beautiful for every day makeup, and I like to wear this mostly if I am not wearing much eye makeup. If it is really sunny outside I tend only to do my base and leave the eyes as they are so sensitive especially in the sun. As it is so pigmented, this gives a beautiful pop of colour and brightens the face, as an alternative to wearing anything on the eyes. I think this shade is also really lovely for those who are very fair skinned too, which you could wear all year round.

Finally the L'oreal blusher in Sandalwood pink. This is one of my favourites for summer nights out, especially if I have a tan. It is the darkest out of the four and not completely matte. The more rose tone really suits my skin when its more tanned and when I wear more of a going out style makeup. I like that it is still a summery shade but deep enough to go with smokey eyes etc. I have done a review on it here, which you can also read.

So they are a few of my favourite blushers for summer time, don't forget to share yours too!

Lipstick Duo I'm Loving!

illamsaqua lipstick in resist and NYX soft mate lip cream in milan
Illamsqua lipstick in resist and NYX soft matte lip cream in milan

Hi everyone hope you all had a lovely weekend. Since I did this makeup look for my birthday I have really been loving this lipstick combo. It is a lovely rose pink shade, its matte and the two together are really comfortable to wear.

The Lipstick I applied first is the Illamsaqua Lipstick in Resist. I am unsure if this is still available as I purchased this in the sale however I am sure there is a dupe or similar shade from Illamsaqua you could use. The second lip product I applied over the top is the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Milan. This is a liquid formulation which you apply like a gloss that dries matte. It is really long lasting and not drying at all on the lips.

I think these two really complement each other and it is such a pretty shade for summer. As it is not too bright I think it would be suitable for any makeup or outfit too. Plus it lasts all day without drying out your lips!

Half Yearly Blog Review!

a picture of my Instagram and laptop

I have been blogging for some time now however I have only really started taking it more seriously since the start of this year, I decided to knuckle down and really make a go of it! At the start of the year I set myself a new blogging schedule and wrote a post about my blogging goals, which you can read here. I thought as we are half way through the year (already) I would look back and see how I am getting on achieving these.

I am happy with the progress I am making with my blog, and I have also seen an increase in my traffic, yesterday I reached 20,000 views which may not mean a lot to some but it really gives me a boost in motivation to do more. I am also starting to work with different brands on projects which I am really looking forward to.

Pictures
I feel I am getting to grips more with my camera, I have the Canon 600d and I really like it, as a complete novice I think it is pretty user friendly too. I have really started to learn all about the settings, I no longer use it on the automatic settings which also gives me more control over the quality and editing. I do feel like my pictures have also improved, I take more time in positioning products and trying different settings to create a nice picture and I hope this shows. I think pictures for a blogger is one of the most important things and I know I still have a lot to improve on but I think I am getting there!

Videos
I am actually in the process of starting to make videos, I am working on a project at the moment which is really exciting so I am learning a lot about the process. I have been editing them using Windows Movie maker as I am just starting out I want to get the idea of the process before moving on to another editing program. I am happy with what I have done so far and I am hoping to start a YouTube channel soon!

Editing
I have started to fiddle around with editing my photos even though I don't really know what I am doing, its still fun to play around and see what you can create! Again with video editing Movie Maker is my go to a the moment, its really easy and simple which is great to learn with.

Blogging community
I am definitely getting more involved in the blogging community. I have started to interact in Twitter chats and link parties which are a great way to meet people and there are always different and interesting topics to talk about. I am enjoying being more involved and chatting with you so don't forget to get in touch - Instagram  / twitter

Blog jargon
this is one goal I have not got much into yet, I have been reading into it a little however I have not yet taken anything into practice.

Overall the past 6 months have been a lot of hard work but I am definitely starting to see a difference. I will continue to keep to my blogging schedule and try to improve as much as possible.

Its My Birthday!! Catch up and Chit Chat!

Hey everyone, today its my birthday, YAY, so thought I would do a little Chit Chat post instead! I don't have anything planned as such but I am sure I will keep you posted on what I get up to. I am definitely going to be going shopping so a birthday haul WILL be happening!

I am now 24 and really feel like I am getting into my stride, I know I still have a lot of hard work to do to get where I want to be, but at least I actually know what I want to do now! I feel the past few months have really been an eye opener for me, I have always been quite shy around people I don't now, however now I feel it is really time to do things for me and not worry about what other people think. In a way I feel a lot more confident in myself now and happy to be ME which I think does come as you get older.

I am also really concentrating on my blog much more which I love, I find I am learning so much and I am really happy with it at the moment. I am going to be doing a round-up post on Friday, looking back at where I was at the start of the year setting my goals and how they are getting on.

I would also really like to thank you guys for reading my blog and sharing my journeys, and day to day boring stuff too! I feel like I have made so many new friends and I love to chat with you too!

I am off to spend some time with my family and open all my cards and things, so thank you all again, and have a lovely day!

I'm having a move around so hopefully I will find a new routine quickly.

Today's makeup is a nice brown and orange dramatic eye with nude lips, I am really into burnt orange at the moment as you can see by top too so this gave me a little inspo!

Mini Fashion and Beauty Haul!

Hey everyone, Yesterday I went to get my hair done then I nipped into town to pick up a few things I needed. Now I only purchased a few things as it is my Birthday next Wednesday (YAY) so I am planning on going shopping then too so I haven't spoiled myself too much.

Primark, Nip+Fab, TRESemme and Bare Minerals complexion rescue

Primark, Nip+Fab, TRESemme and Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue

So first off I headed to Primark, I don't usually shop in Primark to be honest as it gets so busy however as it was a week day it wasn't too bad. I think Primark is the best place to head for holiday clothes, they have lovely beach wear and I really liked all the patterns yesterday. I needed some T-shirts for everyday as its finally summer time now and I don't like my shoulders is the sun too much. I picked up these three T-shirts they were £1.80 each and they are the most comfy material ever! They feel like pajamas. They are a really nice fit and I like that they will go with anything, I can wear them with jeans or leggings for day time and then dress them up for night time. I think comfy T-shirts are a staple in everyone wardrobe!

My last purchase from Primark were these really pretty shorts, which were £3.00. They are really comfy material and I love the pattern and the pom pom detail around the edges. These are lovely for holiday or a summer BBQ with a pair of pretty sandals!

My final few purchases were from Boots, I don't think I could ever go shopping into town without making a pit stop here. First off I got two on the TRESemme Platinum Strength 60 Second Treatment shot, £1.49 each. These are a concentrated treatment you use while washing your hair for a little pick me up, they really do give your hair a boost and help keep in good condition. My hair is feeling a little dry after being in the sun so these are great to help hydrate it.

The next product I brought was the NIP+FAB Dragon's Blood Plumping Mask, and this was on offer for £9.96 instead of £14.95. Personally I would not have paid the full price as its a product I no very little about, I have only seen it on Instagram so as it was on offer I thought I would try it. I do like to try new face masks, and this one is supposed to hydrate the skin and also to have a wrinkle plumping effect. You can use this as a 10 minute mask applying it over the face an neck for 10 minutes then rinsing with warm water, or an over night intensive treatment. I'm looking forward to trying it, I have never tried a plumping mask before, let me know if you have ever tried it!

Finally I purchased the BareMinerals Complexion Rescue £26.00, this is a tinted hydrating gel cream with an SPF 30. Now this is something I have heard a lot about. I have been needing a kind of tinted moisturiser for everyday use for some time now and I have heard many good things about this one plus, the hydrating part really sold me. I like to wear a tinted moisturiser more over summer time as I think they can me more comfortable for everyday so I am looking forward to trying this one.

So that is my mini Fashion and Beauty Haul hope you like it and let me know if you have tried any of these too!

4 Ways I Get Post Ideas!

It can be a task if you are a regular blogger, to come up with so many ideas for interesting blog posts, especially if you are writing every day. I post 3-4 times a week and even I struggle sometimes. It is one of my goals to be one of those bloggers who have there posts ready months in advance of posting... how I envy you! I am so un-organised I would be lucky to have a weeks worth ready. Well lets get back to the point anyway, todays post is just me sharing a few ideas of how I come up with my blog post ideas, if you have any different ones of how you come up with yours please share them too!

- First off I like to Brainstorm, I find if I write what looks like a lot of jumble down on a piece of paper I start to think of lots of different posts I want to write, or different makeup looks I want to create. By brainstorming I can also see what order they would go in too. Bare in mind I am in no way neat at all, when I think of brainstorming I see neatly written ideas categorised in different colours etc... However when I do it its literally just scribble with a biro!

- I also like to read forums and take part in twitter chats, this gets you talking to your potential audience and you can get an idea of what they enjoy reading, or would like to see.

- I flick through Instagram a lot looking at lots of makeup pictures, this helps me come up with makeup post ideas which I really enjoy doing. They also encourage me to try thinks I would never normally try.

- I also look on the calendar, is there anything significant about the date/time of the year which a post may be relevant for? Maybe I have an occasion or I am going somewhere which could also be a potential blog post.

So there are a few ways I get my ideas for blog posts, don't forget to share yours too!

Summer Smokey-eye!

Hi everyone today, hope you all had a great weekend! I am a big fan of smokey-eyes however when its really summery its nice to waver away from those really dark smouldery shades. Today I am sharing my smokey-eye which I think suits the summer time, its still a little grungy without being too dark and its also more on the warm toned side too.

Using Ardell Demi Wispies
Using Stila in the light Palette

Face:
MAC Studio Fix Fluid foundation
MAC Pro Longwear Concealer
Rimmel Translucent Pressed Powder
Benefit Hoola Bronzer
Rimmel Natural Bronzer in Sun Bronze
L'Oreal Blusher in Sandalwood Pink
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Pearl

I applied the foundation all over the face with a beauty blender then concealed the under eyes with the concealer and set that area only with the pressed powder. I contoured using the Benefit Hoola bronzer, then used the Rimmel bronzer to warm up the face. I finished with applying blusher to the cheeks then the highlighter.

Eyes:
MAC Pro Longwear Concealer
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Medium Ash
Stila In The Light Palette shades, Bliss, Sunset and Sandstone
Stila Smudge Stick in Damsel
MAC Eye Kohl in Teddy
Maybelline The Falsies Mascara
Ardell Demi Wispies False Lashes

I started my using the concealer as a primer then filled in my brows. For the eye shadow I started off my using Bliss in the crease as a transition shade, I then used Sunset all over the lid. I used Sandstone then into the crease and outer corners to darken it and used a fluffy brush to smoke it all out. I followed the same concept for the lower lash line using a mix of all three shadows and blended it out. I also made sure I blended all around the outer corners of the eye so all the eye shadow met and blended around creating the rounded smokey effect. I lined the top lash line with the stilla pencil and then the lower water line with the MAC Teddy pencil. I finished by applying mascara to the top and bottom lashes then applied my false lashes.

Lips:
Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil in Hazel
Tanya Burr Lip Gloss in Afternoon Tea

I lined this lips first then applied the lip gloss all over.

I hope you like this makeup look thank you for reading!

How To Create Simple Loose Waves!

Hi everyone, today is a hair post and I am going to show you how to get really simple loose waves. As most of you may know I do have naturally curly hair which I recently wrote a post on, you can read that here. However a lot of the time I do straighten it as I find it easier to manage and I don't have to wash it as often either. If I am going out or my hair is looking a little flat when straight I like to put some nice loose waves into it to liven it up a little.

I think this hair style looks really natural and pretty and its perfect for summer time and especially festivals as you don't have to worry about styling it. It is really easy to create I only use my everyday straighteners, The GHD Styler Straighteners.

I made a little video on how I created this look as I am practicing my video making so I hope you like it!

video

So that is how I create my easy waves, I think it gives a little more volume to the hair and its lasts all day and night too.
