Barry M Nail Paint!

Barry M Nail Paint in Green Berry and Ballerina

I have used Barry M for a very long time, it is one of the first brands I went to when I first started to wear makeup. I really like the quality of their products and they are so suitable for everyone being in the drug store. The packaging is bright and fun also and over the summer I have been wearing the Barry M Nails Paints constantly.

I really like these in particular as they are so long wearing. I find it really hard to find a good quality nail polish which does not chip after a a day or two. They apply really evenly and are very pigmented, I usually apply two coats and you can not see any sheer spots or brush strokes when it dries. They dry really quickly and I can get straight on with my day and not worry about knocking them.

The two shades I have been wearing a lot over this summer is Green Berry and Ballerina, There is a rainbow of shades and different finishes to choose from there is definitely something for everyone, they are perfect for summer.

Todays Look: Indie Chick!

Hey everyone and welcome back, today I thought I would do a bit of a different makeup look today. I have gone quite indie with this look and I think it would be perfect for any festival or gig you are going too.

Face:
VICHY DermaBlend Foundation
MAC Pro Longwear Concealer
Anastasia Beverly Hills contour Kit
Benefit hoola Bronzer
L'Oreal Blush in Sandalwood Pink
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle

I first applied the foundation all over with a Beauty Blender then concealed my under eyes. I set the concealer with the two lightest shades from my contour kit then mixed two of the darker shades to contour. I applied a bit of bronzer to blend the contour and to warm up the face then finished with my blush and highlight.

Eyes:
Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade in Aurburn
Zoeva Cocoa Blend Eyeshadow Palette
MAC Teddy Eye Pencil
Benefit Roller Lash Mascara
Zoeva Cat Eye Pen
Eylure False Lashes in the style Nadine

First off I mixed Substitute For Love and Freshly Toasted into the crease and then blended. I used a little bit of Delicate Acidity deeper into the crease to darken it slightly. I lined the top lash line with the cat eye pen ending in a small wing. I mixed together Beans Are White and Delicate Acidity and used this along the lower lash line, I also carried this outwards to extend the wing from the liquid liner. To finish I lined the water line with the Teddy eye pencil then applied lots of mascara and false lashes.

Lips:
MAC Nightmoth Lip Pencil
MAC Rebel Lipstick
I lined and filled in the lips with the pencil then went over the top with the lipstick.

I hope you like this Indie Chick look and I will be back soon!

A New Beauty Essential / Sudocrem Skin Care Cream!

If there's one thing I look for in a beauty product, it's versatility. I love a multi-tasking product which can offer a variety of uses. My latest addition, Sudocrem Skin Care Cream, ticks all boxes and is now a staple in my handbag this summer.

You can purchase Sudocrem Skin Care Cream for £2.11 from pharmacies, large retailers and beauty stores. I was lucky enough to have been sent this to try and have been using it ever since as part of my everyday skincare routine. It comes in a handbag friendly 30g tube, perfect when travelling about. Plus, It's also a squeeze tube, meaning less mess and more its hygienic. It does have the familiar Sudocrem scent and looks quite a thick texture, however it sheers out and becomes a soothing translucent barrier on the skin. A Little goes a very long way with this product.

I have used this cream for the past couple of weeks to treat my skin in many different ways and now find I am reaching for it all the time. This is a skin care cream you can use as a daily moisturiser (avoiding the eye area). I have used this as an every day moisturiser when I am having no makeup days, it keeps my skin soft and feels like a protective barrier against the weather. I have also been using this as a face mask over night. In the morning my skin feels very smooth and it doesn't feel tight at all like usual. it is also really comfortable to wear too.

This is also a great cream for spot prone skin. Applying this with clean fingers to blemished areas of the skin will soothe and take the redness out of the aggravated areas. I don't usually struggle with blemishes or spots however I do get the odd ones around my chin and after using this as a face mask over night I definitely noticed a huge difference. There was hardly any redness and they had also shrank in size.

One thing I do very much struggle with however is exzema and very dry skin. I have been applying this on small patches of exzema and dry/flaky patches of skin and it has really helped me out. It has calmed down the areas which were quite red and aggravated plus as it has been so hot lately I feel a lot more comfortable and less irritated.

I am amazed really at how versatile this cream has been and I think its one of those staples for any handbag for all year round. Weather its a cut/graze, sunburn, spots, dry or irritated skin I feel this is so helpful. It is suitable for the all the family and for any age and skin type too. Plus as it completely sheers out as you apply it, you still have the protection without being able to make a mess and get it all over your clothes, which is great for the little ones. So if you are on your travels this summer, on holiday, or day trips, or just day to day life, I think this would be really handy to travel about with.

Reverse Smokey eye!

Hey everyone todays makeup look is more of a reversed smokey eye. I love a smokey makeup look and I thought it would be a little different to concentrate the attention all to the lower lash line.

Face:
MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation
MAC Pro Longwear Concealer
Rimmel Clear Complexion Translucent Powder
Urban Decay Concealer Pencil in M16
Benefit Hoola Bronzer
Clarins Illuminating Cheek Colour in Soft Peach
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle

I started by applying the foundation all over then concealing the under eyes and set with powder. I only used a very small amount of the concealer as I didn't want too much of a highlighted effect, so I used just enough to cover my dark circles. I used the urban decay concealer to contour the cheeks then used the benefit hoola bronzer to blend it out and up onto the cheeks. I also used this to add warmth to other parts of the face to balance it all out. I finished by applying my blusher and highlight.

Eyes:
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Medium Ash
Stila Eye shadow in Gilded Gold and Kitten
Illamsaqua Eye shadow in Feint and Machine
Rimmel exaggerate Liquid Eyeliner
MAC Teddy Eye Pencil
Maybelline The Falsies Mascara
Eylure Lashes in Nadine

To start off the eyes I filled in my brows with the pencil then with a fluffy brush applied feint eye shadow into the crease. I then lined the top lash line ending in a long wing then concentrated on the lower lash line. I started off with using machine eyeshadow to make the lash line really dark then blended out with feint and gilded gold. I kept applying and blending until I had the effect I wanted. I then tight-lined the top and bottom waterline with the pencil, and applied kitten to the inner corners. To finish off I applied plenty of mascara to the top and bottom lashes and applied my falsies.

Lips:
Bare Minerals Lip Pencil in Thrilled
MAC Velvet Teddy Lipstick
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
Tanya Burr Lip gloss in Afternoon Tea

I started off by lining the lips and filling them in with the pencil and using the lipstick all over. I used the nyx pencil over the top just a little to make it lighter then applied the lip gloss over the top to finish.

So that is todays makeup look I hope you like it!

Playing with pastels!

Hey everyone and welcome back. It was really sunny at the weekend and I was playing with all the bright colours in my makeup draw. I started do to my makeup and came up with this look, I know it will not be to everyone's taste however I had fun creating it and I thought it would be a nice look for a festival or something like that.

Face:

I started by applying my foundation all over with a Beauty Blender then concealing the under eyes. As this concealer is a little light for me right now I used the MAC highlighter pen and used a little under the eyes and also to highlight other parts of the face to even everything out. I then set the under eyes only with the pressed powder. I used the benefit hoola bronzer to contour the cheeks and around the forehead and used the rimmel bronzer to warm up the face. I finished by applying my blusher and highlight.

Eyes:

I started by filling in my brows then used the eyeshadow in bliss in the crease with a fluffy brush. With my finger I packed on bubble all over the lid. For the inner corner I used the pastel purple shade and blended it all out. I used a little bit of bliss along the lower lash line too. I lined the top lash line with the illamasqua eyeshadow into a little wing then applied mascara to the top and bottom lashes. To finished I applied false lashes.

Lips:

I used the lip gloss all over.

So that is playing with pastels makeup I hope you liked it!

5 Products That Will Never Leave My Makeup Bag!

Being a makeup artist and beauty blogger, I am constantly trying new products and there is nothing I enjoy more however, I do have my collection of little gems I know I could never do without. These five products I use either everyday or almost and I am yet to find alternatives that I love as much. I think we all have those staples that we will always keep in our makeup bags so here is mine!

The Clarins Instant Radiance Booster is part of my everyday skincare routine. I mix this in with my moisturiser and apply every night before bed so it keeps my looking really sun-kissed. Depending on if I  have fake tanned I will use a little more or less and I love how natural it looks. I have a full review which you can read here

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer is never out of my makeup bag. I love the coverage and the lasting power of this, I don't have to worry about this moving around during the day. weather it is an everyday makeup look for more nights where I need more coverage this suits them all.

Since I had the Hollister Body Mists for a present a couple of years ago I have never stopped using them. I have a couple of different scents I swap between I love that even though it is a body spray it lasts a long time. They are really fresh and fruity and I prefer them sometimes to wearing a perfume, and there is a full review here is you want to read.

Tanya Burr Cosmetics Lip Gloss in Afternoon Tea is my absolute go to lip gloss. It is really pigmented unlike other lip glosses and it is really comfortable to wear. I find this shade is perfect for me and it goes perfectly with any makeup look. It is a beige/pink nude which is so pretty and I never leave home without it.

Benefits Gimme Brow is something I have really benefited from. It makes a huge difference to my brows when I use it on its own, making them look a lot thicker and fuller, its amazing when you don't have much time. I also use this after I have used brow powder, it sets everything and ads more definition to the hairs making them look more natural. My brow routine where I use this is here.

So they are my five products that will never leave my makeup bag, don't forget to share yours too, thank you for reading.

My Birthday Beauty Haul!

Hi everyone and welcome back. If you didn't know, it was my birthday last month and I had promised a birthday haul for you! I mainly had money for my birthday and had a list of bits I wanted to try, however I have been so busy it has taken me so long to purchase anything. So these are all products I purchased myself with my birthday money and they were all from Beauty Bay!

Anastasia Beverly Hills - I purchased a couple of items from Anastasia Beverly Hills which were mainly what I visited the website for. First, I chose the Contour Kit in Light/Medium, I have wanted this for so long and I love it even more in person. Even though there are so many shades I think I will be able to make use of all of them so nothing will go to waste. Secondly I chose the Dip Brow Pomade in Aurburn. I use the brow wiz pencil all the time and had wanted to try this to create more defined brows.

Gerard Cosmetics - I came across this brand as I was searching around the website and have always wanted to try their products. I was surprised too see it as it is an American brand so I thought I would take advantage. I chose two lipsticks which I have seen to be pretty popular, first in Kimchi Doll a nice pale peachy/pink nude and Buttercup a lovely beige nude. Finally I chose a lip gloss too called Candy Kiss, its a nice peachy nude gloss I thought would look really nice on its own and pared with other lipsticks too.

Zoeva - I have heard so many good reviews about these products so I had to try them, plus, their prices are so reasonable. First off I chose two brushes, the 105 Luxe highlight Brush to use with my contour kit and the 315 Fine Liner Brush for more precise eyeliner application. I also purchased the Cat Eye Pen as I needed a new liquid liner and had never tried a pen applicator before, the tip is quite small and precise so I think it will work well. My final product was the Cocoa Blend Eyeshadow Palette, this is a beautiful palette with so many different shades, you can create so many different looks. They are all shades I naturally go to and think suits me best so I am really excited to start creating makeup looks with this.

So they are my birthday purchases, let me know if you want to see reviews on anything I am sure I will give you an update after having a play with them. Also please let me know if there are any particular makeup looks you would like me to create with them too!

BareMinerals - Complexion Rescue!

Hey everyone today is the day I finally get to share with you my views on the BareMinerals Complexion Rescue, £26.00. Lots of you have been asking for a review and it must be about three or four weeks since I brought it now. I have been using it most days and I am so pleased with it, I am happy to share it with you.

BareMinerals Complexion Rescue

The BareMinerals Complexion Rescue is a tinted hydrating gel cream. To be honest when I first came across this, the hydration part sold it to me straight away, though I was a little more curious about it being a gel cream, as I didn't know what to expect with the texture. The texture is actually really nice it glides onto the skin really evenly and easily and I felt instant hydration. I find it works best applying it with a buffing brush and really work it into the skin, it looks so beautiful, as if you have naturally smooth glowing skin.

This is a sheer to medium coverage which I really like as you can build up some extra coverage if you need it in certain areas or even for a more special occasion where you don't want really heavy makeup you can get away with using this for your base. I love the smooth dewy finish this gives to the skin, it does not make you look oily at all. It gives the appearance of very healthy glowing skin which for me having very dry skin could not be more perfect.

As this does have a dewy finish, I was very surprised at the staying power of this product, It lasts all day and I personally don't always set it either. Especially for hot summer days which is when I am wearing it the most, it does not move around at all and or begin to look sticky of feel uncomfortable in anyway. My skin feels Hydrated and very moiturised all day long, and my makeup looks exactly the same last thing at night as when I put it on in the morning with no touching up! You can see my every day makeup post where I use it here!

As this a tinted moisturiser it also has a lot of skincare benefits. First off what it does not contain is any Oil, Parabens, Silicone, or Fragrance. It does conctain an SPF of 30 which is great for summer however it is a non-chemical mineral based SPF. It has ingredients which will help replenish thirsty skin and protect it against environmental stressors. With continual use you should start to feel the benefits of more hydrated skin.

For me on my search for the perfect tinted moisturiser for this summer, this is the one for me me. I think this will also work really well for winter time too though as it is so hydrating. As I have very dry skin I can only share my views for that type, so I don't know how with works with more oily skin, so please share your experiences with this too.

June Beauty Favourites!

Its that time again for another favourites post, to be honest I was going to miss out this months as I didn't have many. However I changed my mind so even though there is only four, here are my Favourite beauty products from June!

First off is the Urban Decay Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer £17.00. I have had this for a while now and I may have even included it in another favourites however I have used it pretty much constantly through June. I really like that it has full coverage, at the same time as feeling really light weight. I use it for everyday concealing and also when I am highlighting and contouring.

Next is the Mac Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle £24.00, As it has been really sunny lately my makeup has been super dewy and I love this to highlight.

For my nails its the Barry M Nail Pint in Ballerina £2.99. I had this as a gift for my birthday and have worn nothing else since. I love the colour, its a beautiful dusky nude pink and it goes with with any outfit. The product itself applys really nicely and it very hard wearing.

Finally is the BareMinerals Complexion Rescue £26.00 I am not going to go into too much detail as I have a full review here. Its a lovely tinted moisturiser and is really hydrating and comfortable and very long lasting too.

So they are my June favourites, sorry there is not many! Please share your too!
