How To: Strobing Tutorial!

Hey everyone, last week I wrote a post about my current strobing products, which you can read here. Everyone is strobing at the moment and as a lot of you were interested in the products I used I thought I would show you how I apply them. There will be video tutorial on my Soapbox Chanel soon!

In the before  picture you can see my skin is quite matte as I have set it with powder. There is a slight highlighted effect as as I have applied a lighter concealer under the eyes, and I have not contoured at all, only applied bronze and blush. Srobing is basically extreme highlighting therefore I use both a cream and powder product to emphasize the effect.

First off I use MAC Cream Colour Base in Hush with my finger and blend, you need to try and keep the product in the specific areas and not blend out too far as you will not create the strobing effect. Next I use MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle, with a small tapered brush and apply this over the top of everywhere I applied the cream. I take my time really working it in with the brush to create as much glow with the product as possible.

The areas I concentrate and apply the highlighters to create my strobing effect are:
- Tops of the cheek bones blending round to the temples
- Brow bone
- Top of the arch of the eyebrow
- Centre of the forehead
- Tip of the nose blending a little to the bridge of the nose
- Inner corners of the eyes
- Cupids bow
- Centre top and centre bottom of the lips
- Centre of the chin

When I am happy with my strobing I always spray lots of MAC Fix+ spray to really exaggerate the glow. I hope you like my strobing routine guys and dont forget to share!
