My Favourite Foundation For Dehydrated Winter Skin: Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation!

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation

If there is one season that takes it toll on my skin it is definitely winter time. Harsh winds and cold temperates can have a huge effect on your skin, and even though it is nice to feel cosy and warm even having your heating on has its cons. Having naturally dry skin the effects of winter make me look even more of a dried up prune. I am constantly covering my face in something weather its a hydrating mask or treatment of some sort and I have also changed to an extra rich daily moisturiser. However when I look in the mirror all I see is the texture of a dried up old river bed. Its not comfortable having dry, tight and flaky skin, and with all the different products I've been playing around with I have come to the conclusion that I have just got to deal with this until the weather changes.

One huge downside to having dry and weathered skin right now is finding the right makeup products to pair with it. One thing we don't want is for our makeup to settle in cracks, highlight our flakey areas or most importantly dry our skin out even more. I have been on the hunt for a foundation which is comfortable for everyday which once I apply it in the morning I don't have to worry about when I have a busy day.

Even though we don't feel our best during this season we still want to look like we are on top our game and this foundation definitely makes me feel like that right now. The foundation I have been wearing constantly for the last couple of months is the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation. Now I wouldn't say I am a snob when it comes to makeup however I am finding that I am being drawn towards more high end foundations when it comes to finding quality, however I have been very surprised with this. To be totally honest I don't quite know why I purchased this in the first place, I was randomly browsing though the internet doing a little shopping and it was simply the case of, "I think I have seen this on other blogs before, MEH... Ill give it a go"

Lets get down the FYI of Rimmels Wake Me Up Foundation. This is an illuminating foundation which leaves the skin with a radiant glow, it is medium coverage which can easily be built up for more fuller coverage. A little product goes a really long way with this foundation which is great especially as the price is only £8.99. My favourite tool for applying this base is my Beauty Blender, I find this most comfortable with having dry and sensitive skin as I'm not pulling or disturbing the skin whilst applying. Boasting an anti-fatigue effect with peptides and a vitamin moisturising complex the finish to the skin is beautiful. Your skin looks extremely radiant and glowing however in the most natural way which you guys with dehydrated skin will really appreciate. I find this foundation so hydrating thougought the day and my skin never feels tight or thirsty, it is also lightweight and very comfortable. Personally I don't set with powder, If you have quite weathered skin at the moment you won't need to, the finish is one of the biggest factors with this illuminating foundation therefore setting with a powder will minimise the effect. If you are more combination to oily however are feeling slightly more dry than usual you may want to dust over a little powder.

This is the perfect every day foundation, this lasts on me easily all day not set or retouched, and I love that I can get on with a busy day and not have to even think about how I look. Being comfortable is the main thing I look for in a foundation having dehydrated skin, Wake Me Up is the most comfortable I have in my collection right now by far. I love that my skin can feel and look so glowing and hydrated, I look like have naturally beautiful skin. The only fault I can pick with the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation is the shade range. There are not a huge amount of shades to pick from and I also find most of them to be quite pink in undertone, I struggled to find a perfect shade being quite yellow in undertone however I picked Soft Beige which is not exact although I can work with it. I also wouldn't 100% recommend this for combination to oily skin being more of a dewy finish I think you guys with more dry to normal skin, especially during this season will appreciate the feel and effect a lot more.

There are also other complementing products in the Wake Me Up range which I have not tried yet, I think the Concealer will be next on the list. Have you tried Rimmels Makeup Me Up Foundation? Feel free to share your experience and your skin type too!

  4. I'm on my fifth bottle of this stuff. I feel like its the most suitable drugstore foundation that gives me the right amount of dewyness and coverage. Albeit, its low coverage but I think its perfect for an everyday wear. Strangely enough I find its great for moisturising my skin x
