When I am not creating makeup looks for my Blog or YouTube channel I like to keep my makeup pretty low maintenance. I like my day time makeup to look fresh faced and natural and today day has been one of those makeup days. I have been testing out some new false eyelashes from Threads which is a brand I have never tried before, I have two sets of lashes from their collection and I loved the way this pair looked with my makeup, so of course I had to share them with you! I don't usually wear false lashes for day time however if I have an event or special occasion, which are more occurrent over the spring and summer I like to wear a subtle pair to complement my makeup look.
For todays base I used L'oreal True Match Foundation which is one my favourite drugstore foundations, and for concealer the Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer. I like this combination as they give a medium coverage without looking too heavy which is perfect for day time. I set the face makeup with the Urban Decay Ultra Definition Loose Finishing Powder to keep everything in place and then moved onto bronzer. I applied both Benefit Hoola Bronzer and MAC Give Me Sun today to high points of the face which would naturally catch the sun. I wanted to keep this look very fresh therefore no contouring today, for a subtle pop of colour to the cheeks I used a peach shade from my Sleek Lace Blush Palette and for a glowing finish I used the MAC Soft And Gentle of highlight.
I like eyes to look bright and wide for day time so I used the Stila In The Light Palette to create subtle definition in the crease using the matte shades only and a little along the lower lash line also. I have to have my winged eyeliner so I lined my eyes today with the Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Eyeliner. For mascara I used the Benefit Badgal Lash Mascara and for lashes Threads Charleston Lashes. I think these lashes are so pretty and flattering, I love the way they curl upwards making the eyes look much wider. They also have long and short hairs which is what I always look for as this makes them look a little more feminine and wispy and blend in well with your natural lashes.
Nude lips will always be my go-to, I used Gerard Cosmetics Serenity Liquid Lipstick for a soft matte finish with NYX Milk pencil in the centre to make the shade a little paler and softer.
