Rimmel The Only One Matte Lipstick | First Impressions & Swatches

Rimmel The Only One Matte Lipstick Review and Swatches

Matte Lips have been my go-to look for quite a while now, I love wearing matte lip products as I prefer that kind of finish plus I don't find I have to keep topping up my lips throughout the day or night. I received some blogger mail this week which included some new lip products from Rimmel, their new lip collection called The Only One Matte Lipstick! As they were so kind enough to send me each shade from the collection I thought it would be great to try and swatch each one for you so we can compare each shade.

The Only One Matte Lipstick from Rimmel consists of 9 shades all of which are so wearable. We have the brights for a pop of colour, deep shades perfect for fall and of course the nudes which are my favourite. These matte lipsticks are supposed to be supper comfortable, non-drying plus being bold and pigmented so lets try them on and see...
Rimmel The Only One Matte Lipstick - Leader Of The Pink

Rimmel The Only One Matte Lipstick - Call The Shots

Rimmel The Only One Matte Lipstick - Salute

First from the Only One Matte Lipstick collection we have Leader Of The Pink a bright pop of pink and a makeup bag staple. Next there is Call The Shots a vibrant raspberry pink then Salute the perfect cool toned pinkish nude which may possibly be my favourite.

Rimmel The Only One Matte Lipstick - Take The Stage

Rimmel The Only One Matte Lipstick - Trendsetter

In every lipstick collection there has to be red, Take The Stage is a beautiful red which would look beautiful with a gold smokey eye at Christmas. High Flyer is a very pretty mauve pink, definitely a 'your lips but better' shade. We also have Trendsetter another nude, I would class this as beige nude which has a slight orange undertone.

Rimmel The Only One Matte Lipstick - Look Who's Talking

Rimmel The Only One Matte Lipstick - Run The Show

Rimmel The Only One Matte Lipstick - The Matte Factor

Another unusual shade from the collection is Look Who's Talking a rich wine shade with a brown undertone very beautiful for fall. I love that Rimmel have included a purple, Run The Show for a brighter shade is really wearable. Finally we have The Matte Factor a beautiful deep berry shade with more of a purple undertone.

For drugstore lipsticks I was really impressed with the formula, they are all extremely pigmented and creamy and I found this to be consistent with each lipstick I applied, two swipes are all you need for a bold matte lip! They are a matte finish however don't dry down on the lips which makes them really comfortable, and being more of a creamy consistency I was excited to see how long wearing they really are. I wore Salute all day and was very impressed, I ate and drank throughout the day and it did very gradually wear off however left a stain of colour on the lips so this was barely noticeable I only had to re-apply a couple of times.

I think Rimmel have created the perfect range of shades I would wear any of these for either day or night, we have everything covered from brights to nudes to deeper shades, suitable for any skin tone. The only criticism I do have is that there is also a scent to the lipsticks which I am not a huge fan of however this dissapears as soon as you apply them so really it isn't that noticeable. I also like the matte packaging, it feels really strong, sturdy and light weight so I can carry a few of these around in my hand bag.

My first impressions of The Only One Matte Lipstick collection have been really great, They feel just as pigmented and rich a some of my high end matte lipsticks and what I love most is that they are comfortable and long-wearing too.
